Pastor Robert Burale Sues Ex-Wife Rozina Mwakideu & Alex Mwakideu For Ksh 20 Million
Motivational speaker and pastor Robert Burale has filed a lawsuit seeking Ksh 20 million in damages against his former wife, Rozina Mwakideu, and media personality Alex Mwakideu.
The lawsuit names Rozina and Alex, who are siblings, as the first and second defendants, respectively. Burale claims the pair defamed him during an interview titled
“My Biggest Mistake Was Marrying Robert Burale,” which was published on Alex Mwakideu’s YouTube channel.
Allegations of Defamation and Negligence
In court documents filed at the Milimani Chief Magistrates’ Court, Burale—who describes himself as a cleric of national repute—alleges that the interview, which premiered on October 4, 2025, portrayed him as manipulative, hypocritical, a swindler, and homosexual.
He argues that these statements were false, malicious, and specifically intended to tarnish his name, reputation, and integrity as a pastor and mentor.
Burale further accuses Alex Mwakideu of professional negligence, stating that the media personality failed to verify the serious allegations made by his sister or seek Burale’s response before airing the content. He also faults Alex for allegedly encouraging viewers to “share widely,” which he claims intensified the spread of the defamatory claims.

Seeking Damages and Video Removal
The court papers cite specific time-stamped remarks from the interview, claiming they subjected Burale to ridicule, mental anguish, and significantly lowered his standing among “right-thinking members of society,” thereby jeopardizing his ministry and livelihood.
The suit also makes reference to an October 7, 2025 segment on Radio 47, where Alex Mwakideu allegedly attempted to distance himself from some of the statements made during the controversial interview.
The matter has been filed under the court’s fast-track procedure. The defendants have not yet filed their official responses.
