Police accused of murdering 12-year-old girl and her mother in Busia
This unfortunate incident occurred after residents from Busia threatened to burn down a police camp. The residents believe that the police in the camp killed two watchmen during a robbery that occurred at Bumula trading centre.
The watch has since reached out to the National Police Service hoping they will investigate what exactly triggered the police officers to open fire at civilians and mostly a minor.
If the police accused of murder are found guilty, Otieno Namwaya, who is part of the Africa researcher at Human Rights Watch has sworn to ensure they remain behind bars for not respecting the human rights to life.
In a report delivered by Capital News, Otieno Namwaya urged the Kenyan authorities to keenly investigate this matter that led to the death of about 7 innocent people. He said,
The girl is reported to have died on the spot while the middle aged man died when receiving treatment. 7 other are nursing injuries after the demonstrations.
