Police Raid Grandpa Nite & Confiscate Equipment

The November edition of the monthly Grandpa Nite was held last weekend at the usual venue, Secrets Lounge. The MC Jahill and Libby-hosted event was expected to go on all night but police raided the joint at Viewpark Towers and cut the music showcase short.

The police stormed into the nightclub, stopped the music and carried away the mixing equipment despite the management having a 24-hour operating license. “Whats the meaning of that? All in all, shukran so much to our diehard fans kwa kujitokeza kwa jumla,” Grandpa ranted through their Facebook.

Expected to perform at the event were DNA, Ng’ang’alito, Dogo Biggie, TL-Moh, Pizo Dizo, Warda and Qty among others. Grandpa Nite is a monthly showcase of music from members of Refigah’s Grandpa Records.
