Radio Africa Joins the Turkana Gold Rush

While everybody is busy scavenging of what is lying beneath the Turkana surface, radio Africa seems to be more concerned in investing on the real people living above the soil of Turkana.

Turkana the semi arid land which for centuries has had the best practical definition of suffering is now receiving a global attention and it seem everybody all over sudden wants to go there. The discovery of the black gold in millions of barrels and underground water which can supply the entire Kenya’s population of over 40 million people without taps running dry for years seem to be the reason why everyone is rushing to Turkana; but not Radio Africa, they have a different mission altogether.

Giving the people of Turkana the voice to be heard is the mission of Radio Africa; the group launched radio Jambo Turkana on Monday in Lodwar town. Radio Africa group said it will invest 87 million in the region and the new kid on the block will also give Turkana residents some form of employment. It good news that finally the people of Turkana are getting to be incorporated with the greater Kenyan population to share the national Cake.
