Renowned Kenyan Journalist Robert Otani Dies of Cancer
Kenyan journalist Robert Otani succumbed to a long battle with prostrate cancer late yesterday afternoon at the family’s home in Manyatta-Awendo village in Migori county.
Robert had left the hospital just a week ago as he went home to recover from the treatment, but on 24th April 2012, he fought his final battle with the cancer.
Robert Otani has worked with most of the leading newspapers in the country, even as a freelance journalist, and last worked with the Daily Nation newspaper before he retired over a year ago. He was the father of Ghetto Radio 89.5 News Editor Mac Otani, who is also the Organising Secretary of the Kenya Parliamentary Journalists Association.
