The week may not have started on a very good note with tax evasions following her. It will however for sure end well. From being the best media personality at the IARA awards, Bonang Matheba is now set to be the lead moderator at the UN general assembly.

The esteemed group of panelists taking part in the discussion will included president of France Emmanuuel Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, British Prime Minister Theresa May and Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg.

Bonang Matheba is to appear at the Johannesburg Specialized Commercialized Crimes Court, this Thursday. This is to face charges of fraud.

Her court appearance comes after charges for fraud relating to her personal and business tax.

Actor Rapulana Seiphemo is also set to appear in court on similar charges, a day before Bonang’s scheduled appearance.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) South Gauteng has thus confirmed their scheduled court appearances.

“Both of them are charged with contravening S234(d) of the TAA [Tax Administration Act, for failure to submit income tax returns as and when required].”

 

Bonang Matheba was in New York for the New York fashion week. While there, she made the best of it, and judging by her photos, she ruled it.

Well it’s safe to say that Bonang and Phil are in the Philings :).

It all started  after the commentator gave the star unsolicited career advice and said “her star is waning”.

Phil once again weighed in on the Sunday World drama with some of his advice for Bonang, saying:

“I don’t think it’s wise for her to be waging war with journos. Her influence is waning and & she needs positive coverage to remain at the top [sic]”.

The two took to twitter to haul insults at each other in one of the most entertaing  twitter feuds ever.

Sunday World has released a statement to support their story on Bonang.

“We stand by the report and the comment by National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Phindi Louw-Mjonondwane, who firmly confirmed the matter to us.”

Bonang will be taking legal action against the newspaper for and is demanding  R10m in damages from the publication.

According to Sunday World a fraud docket with a case number that the publication “has seen” has been registered at the Johannesburg Central Station against Bonang Dorothy Matheba.

“Sunday World relied on our triple sourcing method to test these allegations and two court officials quoted in our article confirmed the case to us.”

The article further quotes an additional source, saying: “A police officer from the intelligence unit, collaborated that a case of fraud was being investigated by the Commercial Crime Investigations Unit and was indeed registered at the Johannesburg Central Station.”

Adding: “Further to our facts being questioned, Mjonondwane clarified the statement from the NPA.”

Bonang PR team have denied reports that the local star was summonsed to appear in the Johannesburg Specialised Commercial Crime Court this week on charges of tax fraud.

Bonang Matheba has finally made it to the cover of GQ’s September Power issue.

The issue features artists, personalities and iconic figures of South African culture.

Bonang has therefore made it as the first to be featured.

It is the first solo female cover from GQ SA in more than 8 years.

The cover will be on shelves come monday.

Bonang Matheba has  set the record straight concerning a scam that has been using her name to misinform fans.

An SMS has been circulating about winning R100 000 with Bonang.

Bonang took to twitter to Inform her follower she was not running any competitions

For the second time running, Bonang Matheba will be hosting the DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards.

She has also been nominated in the Favourite Personality of the Year category.

Bonang will face off with Somizi Mhlongo, Nomzamo Mbatha, cricket star Kagiso Rabada and musician and reality TV star Penny Penny.

On Tuesday, Bonang Matheba shared her excitement. This was at being one of the hosts of the upcoming International Women in Media conference.

She has however withdrawn from the conference This is in a tweet she posted yesterday night.

The conference is set to feature Amanda du Pont and Connie Ferguson among others. It will explore a variety of topics. They include the business of production, the art of acting/presenting and how to make it in Hollywood.
