Cassper Nyovest sheds light on #FillUpFNB

Cassper Nyovest addresses the fatherhood rumours

Cassper took to Twitter to address the rumours that were circulating about him expecting his first child.

Sunday Sun reported that he and Thobeka were five months pregnant and excited about the news.

Sources have told the tabloid that Cassper and Thobeka are keeping the news under wraps for now although they have informed their families.

“She has gone out of her way to hide her pregnancy from the public because she knows her man is in the spotlight,” a source said.

However, Cassper took to Twitter to deny this, saying ‘Sies! newspaper lie,’ in Setswana.

Cassper Nyovest sheds light on #FillUpFNB

Cassper Nyovest is getting ready for the third edition of his #FillUp series. He is taking on the 90000-seater FNB Stadium in Johannesburg in December 2.

“I feel like I could be the biggest rapper to ever come out of Africa. I just want to look at different ways to go about it instead of just trying to collaborate with other rappers,” says artist Cassper Nyovest.

“It’s harder now because we don’t have any sponsors. We are actually in debt,” Cassper reveals.

Despite this, he is still determined to create a high quality production for his fans. With or without support, he believes that through the grace of God, it will all work out.

“The tickets are affordable because I want them to be accessible to everyone including the little kid in the hood who wants to see me.”

For Cassper, it is not about making money. Rather, it is about making history.

Cassper Nyovest is broke, find out why?

With less than a month to go before Cassper Nyovest Fill Up FNB Stadium concert and in an interview with Masechaba Ndlovu on Metro FM‘s The Drive with MoFlava and Masechaba, the Mafikeng rapper declared himself broke: “I’m broke, I don’t have money”.

Cassper Nyovest said he’d spent so much money on the concert that two of his employees have yet to be paid and he was looking to sell one of his luxury cars. “I was going to sell one of my cars to a guy, but he had a family emergency and he couldn’t buy the car.”

Cassper Nyovest said the show cost him R15 million to put together and the stage alone was R5,2 million.

“The show does not make money. We don’t make a profit; I’m investing in the industry and the name Cassper Nyovest. In time I will be amongst the greatest although I didn’t make enough money to show it.”

He went on to say he wants the show to inspire people to do great things, to invest in their talents and to build a legacy.

“Sometimes I feel like maybe I should stop investing so much in my craft and buy a Rolls Royce but I think I wouldn’t be as far as I am if I didn’t respect my craft,” he says.

Tickets for the 2 December gig, Fill Up FNB Stadium, are available at Computicket. Tickets range from R100 to R500.

Cassper Nyovest Declines Statue Offer

One of the biggest hip hop artists in Africa has declined a statue offer.Cassper Nyovest is well known for his large life where he is flossing cars and his very expensive Jewellery.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BVm0jBElTmR/?taken-by=casspernyovest

The musician was offered the chance to have a statue of himself built by a fan, but he politely declined saying he was not that vain.

He did come up with an alternative though.

Started from the bottom

“Coming to the big city I wanted to make music that would be accepted by the suburban kids cause that’s where I lived when I came to the city but I never understood how much power I had just from me coming from the poorest parts of the country.” Cassper Nyovest opened up about his journey in music.

Refiloe Maele Phoolo, known to many as Cassper Nyovest, has risen to be one of the most sought after musicians.

“I was never accepted by the ‘cool kids’ as they were called cause I never had the money to dress like them or drive the cars their parents borrowed them on the weekend. Plus I couldn’t rap about half the shit they spoke about cause I wasn’t that familiar with the lifestyle.”

It has never been a walk in the park for this musician who started out quite literally, without anything.

“I then started rapping about my reality and how much I wanted to live like the upper class. That message was so simple yet so strong cause all we want to do is improve as people.”

Having grown up in Mafikeng, Nyovest attended Sol Plaatje secondary School. He started rapping when he was in grade 6, and after failing exams in grade 10, he moved to his grandmother’s house and decided to drop out of high school the following year. “I told my parents that I’d rather chase my dream, which I believe is going to work out, rather than keeping it safe and regretting it my whole life.”

His debut album, Tsholofelo, was released in July, 2014.

“Fast forward I meet an artist in Venda by the name of Patrice who made a statue of me from Clay. That shit is priceless and it says to me ‘Carry on, you bring us hope.’ I was mad touched by this Gift. I appreciate all the love from my fans…”

Cassper is currently signed to his own independent label and media company, Family Tree. He will also be hosting a concert, dubbed #FillUpFnbStadium on the 2nd of December this year.
