At the launch of Mampintsha’s solo song recently, Babes Wodumo was spotted wearing a rock on the ring finger.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s not an engagement ring \u2013 it\u2019s just swag.\u201d<\/div>\n
She was seen wearing the same ring on the same finger a week ago.<\/p>\n
Her father, Mbongeni Simelane has however cleared the air. According to him, Babes is not engaged nor married.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo be engaged in my culture means a man sends his family to negotiate a prize for the bride and that has not happened for her,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Mbongeni says his daughter is responsible for her own life choices.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf Babes wants to have a secret engagement or marriage, that\u2019s her business. I can\u2019t force my values on her because she\u2019s old enough to decide for herself.\u201d<\/p>\n
Interestingly, last year Babes said she was engaged to her boyfriend of seven years. At the time she said she doesn’t wear the ring so as to avoid being questioned.<\/p>\n
