Zodwa Wabantu recently celebrated her birthday, and she was full of gratitude.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember asking God would I die being nothing?\u201d she reflected on social media.<\/p>\n

Zodwa was brought up by her grandmother and aunt after the death of her mother.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy Aunt from Nelspruit said Zodwa you left home when you were 16\u201a all these years you have never looked back. But please\u201a if it\u2019s hard out there\u201a come back as you are. Uyaphila\u201a you are breathing\u201a we won\u2019t ask you questions just come back.\u201d<\/p>\n

In all her difficulties, all she held onto was her faith in God.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been a fighter all my life. No parents. No guidance or guardian at all. But with God only. I didn\u2019t give up but I already told myself that I will just die with nothing but my stomach full.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFor the record\u201a I do pray. I prayed more when I was 15 to 28 years old.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zodwa was also full of gratitude to DJ Tira for making her the brand she is.<\/p>\n

\u201cDJ Tira\u201a what I have asked you from day one\u201a and (what) I have asked any businessman\u201a was for them help me with tears on my face. So whatever I became or become it is because you gave me a chance in life.\u201d<\/p>\n
