Modern Family <\/i>star Julie Bowen has separated from her husband of 13 years, Scott Phillips.<\/p>\n
The couple tied the knot in 2004, and have three children, 10 year old Oliver, and eight year old twins John and Gustav.<\/p>\n
Bowen’s relationship to her husband is said to have been strained in the recent months.<\/p>\n
In 2016, Bowen’s husband did not join her at the Emmys, which was also the day of their 12th anniversary. She explained it by saying: “He’s come every year, he’s been so supportive and this year he was playing in a tennis tournament and I wasn’t nominated as an individual so I said, ‘What do you want to do on our anniversary?’ I mean it’s such an honor to be nominated and to go, but it’s tough to be a purse holder.”<\/p>\n
The couple were last photographed at the 47th Anniversary Gala Vanguard Awards in September 2016.<\/p>\n
Of what makes a marriage successful, Bowen joked, “Honestly I only remember up until we had the kids. Then you’re like, ‘What?’ Twelve years. We’ve had children for nine. So I remember the first three years, the rest of it is like a blackout.”<\/p>\n
