Zodwa Wabantu arrived in Zambia on Friday, only to be told to wait hours in an airport office.<\/p>\n

The entertainer was then asked to go to a hotel room provided for her and was told that she\u2019d be deported back to South Africa the next day on the first 05:20 GMT fight.<\/p>\n

According to Reuters<\/strong><\/a>, the dancer was deported on grounds that her performance would \u201cundermine national values\u201d.<\/p>\n

Zodwa, who was booked to perform in Zambia on Saturday but didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

After the ordeal she had an interview with Drum Magazine<\/a> to explain what went down.<\/p>\n

Here is the full interview<\/h3>\n

Around 15:30 they told me I\u2019m going to be last to get off the plane, then the authorities came and they never said anything to me.<\/p>\n

I thought I was being taken by the event organisers or getting special treatment by authorities because I\u2019m a celebrity, only to be taken to the airport office, where they awaited calls from the official in charge of immigration.<\/p>\n

How did you feel<\/strong>?<\/p>\n

I tried to be calm because I didn\u2019t know what was happening. I was not scared because I didn\u2019t do anything. They also made me comfortable, saying, \u2018you didn\u2019t do anything Zodwa, and it\u2019s just that it\u2019s the law of Zambia\u2019.”<\/p>\n

What reasons did they give you for being deported?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nothing, I even asked. But they were nice towards me, they said ‘it\u2019s not you, it\u2019s the law’. I don\u2019t know, maybe it\u2019s because I don\u2019t wear panties. They never said anything to me.<\/p>\n

What are you going to do about the way you were treated?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m not going to do anything. I\u2019m okay, I\u2019m an entertainer, let them fight between their powers.<\/p>\n

Maybe it\u2019s their way of making South Africans aware that they\u2019re Zambians. Maybe it\u2019s beyond what you and I know, maybe it\u2019s about power and politics.<\/p>\n

Do you feel they want you to change as a person?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes, I think so. I think everyone wants me to change, you know? I\u2019m a woman, I\u2019m free, I\u2019m able to do what I want, it\u2019s my body. It\u2019s my choice not wearing a panty.<\/p>\n

But you know everyone makes it as if I go on stage and say, \u2018hi everyone I\u2019m not wearing a panty\u2019, as if I\u2019m showing my p****.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t wear the panty \u2013 that\u2019s all.<\/p>\n

My fans say, \u2018Zodwa we see you are not wearing a panty, we love you because you are not wearing a panty. I\u2019m an entertainer, as in allowing my fans to tell me what to do \u2013 not people who aren\u2019t party goers and who don\u2019t support what I do.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Zambia\u2019s constitution states that it is a Christian nation, are you a Christian?<\/strong><\/p>\n

No, I don\u2019t want to say I am. It\u2019s just a name, whether you say you\u2019re a saint or a churchgoer, those words are just what society wants.<\/p>\n

But the question is \u2013 who are you, do you live according to God or the right way?<\/p>\n
