Sad: After Suffering A Life Threatening Heart Condition, NTV Host Diagnosed With Lung Cancer, Stage 4

I feel burdened punching the keyboard typing this story. But if she was strong enough to narrate her condition, then I am equally at task to tell the story of a cancer soldier.

Some three months ago, Janet Kanini, the host of N-Soko Property Show, a program that airs on NTV, came forth to disclose she was admitted to the ICU after suffering severe heart condition.

Kanini recuperated and even went back to host her show. But her body was harboring chronic disease that would see her fly to India to seek medical help.

Most Kenyans usually go to India for cancer treatment. Kanini flew to the Asian nation in search for a medical help but the answer she got was heartbreaking.

The NTV host was diagnosed with lung cancer, stage 4, which basically means the cancerous cells have spread from its site of origin to distant organs.

Kanini has already started chemotherapy treatment. She was accompanied by her husband who stayed by her side as she underwent numerous procedures. The hubby has since returned to Kenya to check on their kids leaving Kanini under the watchful eyes of her mother.

She took to the social media to share her story because she feels it will inspire those facing similar ordeal to be strong and fight to the end.

“It has taken me weeks to decide to publicly admit that this is the diagnosis. One reason is that it is not advised to give voice to sickness. What you declare is what is. However I realize that discussing this condition over the past 3 and half months has helped people – those with similar symptoms, those with other ailments and those who are affected by caring for the sick. I know that sickness is not my portion, and if by sharing my experience I can help to educate and comfort others, then so be it.” She wrote in part.

Kanini will remain in New Delhi for sometime as doctors assess her condition to prescribe her best medicines after which she will come back to Kenya to continue with chemotherapy

We pray for you to recover quickly and come back to our screens. May the good Lord give you strength to overcome this.
