Standard Announce Kenya’s 1st Sports Newspaper

The Standard Group has launched a new sports magazine in the market. Game Yetu will be published twice every week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The 24-page publication will feature news, gossip and commentary on a variety of sports, especially football concentrating on the local and European leagues. The gossip part of the paper is titled Pang’ang’a.

In line with being a pioneer in multiple area of journalism, Game Yetu is Kenya’s first English sports newspaper. The Standard was the first newspaper in the country while the group’s KTN was the first independent TV network in Kenya. The paper which is set to go online soon is targeting 17 million people.
