SUZANNA OWIYO IS BACK WITH A TASTE OF KISUMU

Kenyans and particularly party loving Nairobians are increasingly spoilt for choice when it comes to leisure options and entertainment. With the easter holidays coming up at the tail end of the week, theres a wider bouqette of choice.

Ever considered an out of town getaway? Now, I’m not talking about a trip to Naivasha or Baringo… or to Ngong Hills. Have you ever considered an escape to the lakeside? If not then here’s why you should.

Haandi restaurant, together with Turtle Bar and Restaurant introduce to you a ‘Taste of Kisumu’, a three day festival to be held at the Kisumu Beach Resort. The headlining acts are the internationally acclaimed Kenyan artiste Suzanna Owiyo and the highly accredited Sauti Sol, fresh from their SXSW trip to Austin, texas.

The event will feature Local Food Specialties. Aluru /Quail, Aliya /Dry cured fish, Fried fish, Peanut sauce, Omena, Nyama Choma and Local Folk Music. Also on the cards will be the Taste of Kisumu awards as well as a Craft Fair.

There will be a showcase of traditional music, as charges are only Kshs. 300 in advance and Kshs. 500 at the entrance for adults. The date is the 6th to the 8th of April 2012.
