Taj Mall The Pride Of Embakasi Is Facing Imminent Demolition

Taj Mall seats a few meters from Airport North Road/Outer Ring Road roundabout. The latter road is under construction and for the road to meet the specifics of the designers, Taj Mall has to go down, it’s that bad.

Taj Mall has been named the Pride of Embakasi. Its planned demolition sounds like a hard drill through the heart of Embakassians.

In as much as residents want the shabby Outer Ring Road to be fixed, they sure don’t want Taj Mall to be bulldozed.

The National Land Commission has however revoked the title deed for Taj Mall. Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has been given the green light to knock down the multi-million mall.

Reports indicate the Rameshchandra Govind Garissa has been running up and down relevant offices in a bid to save his investment.

Gulf Energy petrol station, Oil Libya and Jogoo Outering Petrol station are also marked for demolition.
