Socrate Safo talks about the role of television.

Ghanaian film producer, Socrates Sarfo talks about the country’s dead movie industry. According to him, it is as a result of the emergence of way too many television. He is a board member of Zylofon Art Fund.

He stated that most television stations get the movies produced. However, they get the movies close to nothing or nothing at all. Also, they purchase the rights on the movies and later shown on tv to viewers who would have otherwise bought it.

“Let’s say you take your movie to a Tv station and another movie to a platform that will sell the movies for you, I’m telling you that, nobody will buy the one on the platform but rather go the Tv stations showing it for free to watch.”
