The Amazing Rare Watts and Jam City are Back! #CelebrityingKenya
Before pubs doubled as clubs and twerking started competing with clapping of hands in church, there was a reigning dance group called Jam City and Rare Watts. I say reigning cause during, kedo 80’s-90’s, they used to ‘kill’ it! Personally I had no clue about these groups until MCSK’s C.E.O Maurice Okoth chanuad me so I had to Google, and I must say, those dance moves are something else.
It’s not the kawaida dance moves I and my fellow age mates are used to, but it’s a really interesting vibe. The Rare Watts group blended the Maasai dance with club moves to come-up with rare and original dance style, and the astounding thing is, they were actually not Masai but the coordination and energy put into the dancing was FLAWLESS. Now the Jam City group danced the robot style, Still looking for ‘Jam City’ video, any one with it, please share.
So, these two ‘old’ dance groups will be performing during the MCSK Gala that will be aired Live on KTN as from 2.30pm on 20th of October aka Mashujaa Day. I’m excited already!
