THE TRUTH: There Are No Dope Rappers In Kenya Right Now, …Not Even One…..And This Is Why
There is no dope rapper in Kenya right now. There is no true emcee that embodies the hip hop culture. Everyone is joking when there’s clearly free space to step up. Lemme tell you why there is no dope rapper in Kenya right now.
Khaligraph is a freestyler not a rapper
How many times has Khaligraph jumped onto other people’s beats. The Julius yego track was basically him free-styling on the beat of Young Thug’s ‘Power’. The ‘RIP Competiton’ track was basically him free-styling on Twista’s ‘Adrenaline Rush’. And do I need to remind you about the Ojuelegba Refix? And The Mario Refix? Most of Khaligraph’s tracks are just about him rapping on other people’s beats. He’s a good rapper yes but this tendency disqualifies him as a true hip hop king. Kwani what does he pay his producer to do? And even when Kahligraph does a good song, he always releases a bad video for it…..aaaargh.
Octopizzo is a liar with weak lyrics
Most of Octo’s lyrics are weak. He just rhymes things that don’t even makes sense. Like “Mimi ni Oscar na wewe ni Lupita so lazima ntakufuata ukipita.” Lame as f***k. And where did he find the audacity to lie about working with August Alsina? He just stole a whole song and put his raps in it. As you can remember,we revealed to you that the true owners of the song were some Latino guys namely, JMG and Fedarro. Check the story here, careful Octo, Those Latino guys are bad. You might eat the iron gringo. Didn’t you watch ‘Sons Of Anarchy?
Anyway, point is, real rappers don’t steal music so Octo is whack…Shika huyo mwizi
Rabbit has lost his midas touch
Whenever a rapper starts making hooks or song titles out of the latest subject trending on Twitter, it’s a bad sign. Rappers should be setting trends, not hopping on them. All rabbit does nowadays is do songs called ‘Ugali’ and ‘Gerrarahere.’ He has clearly fallen off an it seems like there’s no way back for him.
Nothing lasts forever. No one can escape the gravitational pull of the fall-off. Talent waxes and wanes. Even the greatest of the greats will eventually slip. It seems. Sadly, it seems Rabbit’s time at the top has come to an end
Underground Rappers aren’t interested in getting out of the basement
They are a few good underground cats. But they are still releasing music that most people can’t relate too. You might be good at what you do but being unable to appeal to a wider audience makes you whack. That’s the cold hard truth, just like Fanta from a freezer. Underground rappers need to step up. They need to release hit songs. Hip hop is ailing and we need a savior right now. May the heavens give us one!
