{"id":13461,"date":"2018-07-18T09:59:56","date_gmt":"2018-07-18T06:59:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.com\/ug\/?p=13461"},"modified":"2018-07-18T09:59:56","modified_gmt":"2018-07-18T06:59:56","slug":"ucu-student-sentenced-to-10years-in-jail-for-sharing-nudes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ug\/ucu-student-sentenced-to-10years-in-jail-for-sharing-nudes\/","title":{"rendered":"UCU student sentenced to 10years in jail for sharing Nudes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 23-year-old student of Uganda Christian University (UCU) has been convicted after pleading guilty to charges of broadcasting pornographic material and computer misuse.<\/p>\n<p>Lillian Rukundo was on Monday arraigned in Buganda Road Court in Uganda\u2019s capital Kampala and charged with 10 counts of broadcasting pornographic material before being convicted on her own plea of guilt.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecution\u00a0contends\u00a0that Rukundo, in 2017 while in her hostel in Mukono District produced a video of herself masturbating and shared it through\u00a0social media for purposes of sexually arousing whoever watched it.<\/p>\n<p>Rukundo also pleaded guilty of publishing pictures of her naked body from the breasts to the knees.<\/p>\n<p>The chief magistrate, Ms Mary Babirye remanded her to Luzira Prison until July 13, 2018 when she will return to court for sentencing.<\/p>\n<p>Rukundo\u2019s luck ran out last month when a whistleblower tipped the Pornographic Control Committee that was inaugurated by the Ethics and Integrity minister, Mr Simon Lokodo.<\/p>\n<p>This comes just days after the same court last week convicted and sentenced a 25-year-old love-struck student to two years for stalking a Kabarole Woman Member of Parliament Sylvia Rwabwogo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 23-year-old student of Uganda Christian University (UCU) has been convicted after pleading guilty to charges of broadcasting pornographic material and computer misuse.
