A first date isn\u2019t the time to take those fierce\u00a0six-inch stilettos out for a spin, or wear that dress that you think is a little <em>too<\/em> tight. Why? Because first dates are anxiety-filled enough and being uncomfortable in your clothes only makes it worse.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>DON\u2019T be\u00a0surgically\u00a0attached to your phone.\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nThis is the big one, ladies: The act of compulsively\u00a0checking your phone every two minutes could be a bonafide deal breaker. There\u2019s nothing ruder than trying to have a conversation with a person who\u2019s constantly stating at their screens\u2014wouldn\u2019t <em>you<\/em> be put off if he were paying more attention to his iPhone than to you?<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><strong>DON\u2019T\u00a0try to prove your worth using shallow\u00a0tactics.<\/strong><br \/>\nWhat not to do on a first date? Maniacally mention your ex-boyfriend, your dating history, all the time you spend at the gym, the laundry list of guys lining up\u00a0around\u00a0the block to date you, or how everyone says you look exactly\u00a0like Beyonce. If you get the urge, step up your game and act your age. And, odds are, if you\u2019re really<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><strong>DON\u2019T\u00a0get wasted.<\/strong><br \/>\nThere\u2019s not much to say here without sounding preachy, but keep this in mind: Having to be carried home by a guy you barely know isn\u2019t chic (nor is puking in the cab, doing\u00a0something\u00a0you regret, or\u00a0crying at the dinner table.)
