It looked like a ghost town that had once suffered an invasion. Various images that circulated on social media showed empty streets with no people and cars. There were cars with people rushing to get home from work, and holiday shoppers at all corners of the town. This year&#8217;s Christmas celebrations however, had everyone leaving the city center and it&#8217;s surrounding areas, to enjoy the festivities in the villages.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3576\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3576\" style=\"width: 443px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ug\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/12\/images-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ug\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/12\/images-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"443\" height=\"332\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ug\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/12\/images-1.jpg 443w, https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ug\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/12\/images-1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 443px) 100vw, 443px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3576\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Kampala City on a non Christmas day<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This was shown by the major hike in bus prices by over thirty thousand shillings, for the travelers going up country. Secondly, all bus seats were filled up by Christmas Eve, and many people had to travel while standing in the main aisles of the vehicles. It was a successful and fun-filled day, with a lot of eating, catching up and laughter.
