In the raid, the institution inspectors also confiscated cosmetics that contain mercury and hydroquinone.<\/p>\n
In 2016, the bureau of standards banned importation and selling of cosmetics that contained the above ingredients saying they have a number of side effects, including skin discoloration, mild burning, skin dryness and also damage inner organs such as the kidney and skin scaring.<\/p>\n
They say the brand has been using the UNBS quality mark illegaly.<\/p>\n
But this leads us to question why they have just recognised this yet the brand has been using this in their marketing material for over 2years.<\/p>\n
