Wangari Maathai at Facebook
Facebook moved its global headquarters late last year to a new address, Menlo Park, California USA, on a new one million square foot area that could hold up to 9,400 employees at any one time on just its East Campus alone.
The company purchased the premises from Sun Microsystems, and it went through an entire makeover to make it ‘Facebook friendly’ and help improve productivity and creativity at the office, though most Kenyan employees would call that layout some king of ‘wonderland’.
Well, along those very corridors of the headquarters of the World’s largest social network, are images, caricatures and paintings dedicated to global figures that have made, are making and continue to make an impression on this rapidly inter-connecting world.
One of those images is of Kenya’s very own Wangare Maathai. Have a look at the graffiti-like picture plastered on a stairway wall at Facebook’s Menlo Park campus.
