What TPF Winner Ruth Matete Has To Say About ‘Mean’ Ian Mbugua Will Surprise You
Ian Mbugua has gained a reputation as the Simon Cowell of Kenya, the mean judge on TPF.
This is because of his atypical methods used to curve the TPF contestants into something timeless, more than a one hit wonder.
Some such as Hemedi who had an emotional meltdown that led to a cringe-worthy outburst in a TPF finale did not appreciate his methods, but those that did such as Ruth Matete have songs of praise for him.
This was her message to him on his Birthday:
I remember that day when I was in the que for the Tusker Project Fame season 5 auditions. Then my name was called to go in. When I walked into the room I found you. All this while I was praying so hard that I don’t go to the room where you were.Coz guys said you were mean and very harsh. But then there you were. Asked me to sing and I sang. You asked me to sing again. And again. I only had prepared three songs for the auditions. But I ended up singing for you about six of them. After I sang, you went quiet for a while, then looked at me and said, ” I want to see you again”. I didn’t know that was the beginning of a beautiful story that I would live to tell for years.
Thank you so much Ian Mbugua for the chance and opportunity you gave me. Hoping you had a great day! I just wanna wish you a very sweet wonderful amazing happy birthday!
You are an amazing person. Am glad our paths crossed
