Why This Mzungu Woman Is Causing Outrage On Social Media. Even Kenyan Celebrities Are Baying For Her Blood

Back in the day, ‘Woe Africa’ stories sold faster than hot mandazi’s in Kariokor and everyone jumped into the bandwagon of helping poor starving Africans.

That was back in the day and Africans have proven that they can stand on their own two feet but this warped up view of Africa is still thriving. Just watch a large percentage of Hollywood movies, tune in to Western media houses or even go on social media and you will cringe at the sickening level of ignorance about Africa.

needless to say, Africans and Kenyans are sick and tired of it fighting it off harder than a cloud of pesky mosquitoes.

That’s why this woman’s idea of ‘helping Africa’  rubbed people off the wrong way. This is what she wrote after the public ranted and raged over Walter Palmer, a hunting enthusiast hunting down Zimbabwe’s most famous lion “Cecil”

“Now that you’ve calmed down about the dead lion in Africa….#‎realissues ‪#‎starvingchildren ‪#‎realtalk ‪#‎africa. It’s funny how the masses will FREAK OUT over an animal but when you have real babies dying daily people be like “meh…whatever”…#‎prioritiesThanks Garrett Robins for the image.” she wrote before posting this famous and disturbing photograph of the famine in Sudan.A photo taken 22 years ago by South African photojournalist Kevin Carter of a Sudanese child being stalked by a vulture.

Her act of ‘kindness and concern’ has lit up social media with scorn and vitriol. Here are a few reactions

Mkamzee Chao Mwatela: There is a stupid woman called Rachel Jackson (entitled of course-someone stuck the microphone labelled Africa up her butt and she has decided she speaks for us) who is comparing the Lion’s death to the death of starving children in Africa. To accompany her post she has put up a picture of a starving child. And then she thinks she is doing us a favour- because she is apparently speaking for African children when the world only wants to speak about a lion. This year’s KCSE composition question should be “What is wrong with this scenario?”- Discuss

Meloney Reid: I’m pretty sure no one ever said “Meh Whatever” about dying children so your comment is somewhat faceless! That being said why can’t people honour the killing of a defenceless animal by a prick without being made to feel like there doing something wrong by not also honouring children dying!? I mean serious, your comment is pretty rude!! Just because someone cares about animals doesn’t mean they don’t care about humans!

Raphael Xavier Ndegwa: Aaaah, another person who thinks she knows more about Africa’s children just because she watched those give-2 quid-to-a-starving-African-child charity mockeries.

Victor Gatonye Niliona hiyo nugu!!! Wacha I contact kot

Kagwi Kagwiria: I even saw some kenyan telling Africans to stop being hypocrites by pretending we feel for Cecil when we kill our children and women with so much pride

Jeff Lujan: False equivalency …. There are hundreds of organizations trying to stop the tragedy both in the human and animal populations in Africa…. This is a baseless argument that diminishes the crime that has been committed in this situation… This type of selfish and egotistical behavior that continues to drive the big game hunting phenomenon is a crime against humanity because as these endangered populations continued to decline it is the future generations that will be robbed…. In addition what should be decried,if you’re so concerned about feeding the starving children, is how many starving children could’ve been fed with the $55,000 fee that he paid to murder the one lion maybe you should focus your energies on that waste instead of wasting time creating false controversy here

Damian Morgan: I don’t know you but felt compelled to reply to your ignorant post. Do not confuse ‘our’ obhorence and disgust at the outrageous behaviour of man’s brutality towards animals with complacency of the starving of this planet. For you to try and take away from what that worthless excuse for a human being did on an innocent, majestic and lets not forget endangered creature is inexcusable. We are all painfully aware of the injustices around this planet concerning starvation but did you really need to launch your obviously anti animal campaign on the very day news broke. Is it any wonder this planet is as it is with twats who unfortunately have enough money to buy ‘a kill’ but no compassion or humanity to use their wealth differently to enhance the planet and ‘tools’ like you who go out of their way to excuse that behaviour by comparing this obvious atrocity to another shameful situation. Good luck in your future posts, perhaps you should actually abandon social media entirely and do everyone else a favour, thanks

Mkamzee Chao Mwatela: And she should see how great the similarities between her and that dentist are. Because to her and her “I will save Africa” mission, that picture of that child is as much a trophy as the lion was to the crazy dentist. And then she used that really unfortunate picture of the vulture waiting for the child to die – how fitting. Because that’s what she is, a vulture feeding on misery and decay. Moron
