You Will Not Believe How Much Sauti Sol Was Paid To Perform for Obama and Uhuru Kenyatta

Sauti Sol, one of Kenya’s biggest bands known for their sweet mélange of pop and rich African beats had an epic boost to their career over the weekend.

This was when they performed for the leader of the free world, Obama during a State House dinner event hosted by President Uhuru Kenyatta, in honor of President Obama’s visit to Kenya

Moved by their performance, USA President Barack Obama broke into the famous ‘Lipala Dance’ an act that made global headlines and went viral on social media.

Many are curious about how much Sauti Sol was paid for this high-profile gig and Ghafla sought to find out. A highly-placed source from State House reveals to us that the award-winning band was paid nothing for their performance; their payment was the performance itself.

It was more of a quid pro quo agreement, because as we all know performing for POTUS gave them some serious mileage which is more than what money could ever buy.
