Actress Trisha Reveals Why She Returned A Gifted Mercedes To Her Married Ex

Kenyan actress Trisha Khalid has opened up about a past relationship with a married man, sharing the hard lessons she learned after returning a luxury car he had gifted her.

Speaking in a candid interview, Trisha revealed that she received her first car, a metallic grey Mercedes, in 2021 from her then-partner. While she expressed regret over dating a married man, calling it one of the biggest mistakes of her life, she used the experience to offer practical advice to other women receiving high-value gifts.

“I got my first car in 2021. It was from a married man I was dating—something I’m not proud of. Please don’t judge me. We all go through things, make mistakes, and that is one of the biggest mistakes I’ve ever made. [But] when someone gives you a car, make sure it’s registered in your name, okay?”

Trisha explained that once the relationship began to fall apart, she chose to proactively return the vehicle to avoid potential drama, embarrassment, or manipulation. Fearing that her ex-partner might use the unregistered car as leverage against her, she took matters into her own hands.

“After we broke up, I personally returned the car to him. One thing about me is that I don’t like embarrassment,” she shared. “When I realized the relationship wasn’t working, I asked his nephew to come and collect the car because I knew that one day he might start using it to blackmail me. So I returned it before he could ever ask for it back, and I take great pride in having done that.”
