Ministry Of Repentance & Holiness Denies End-of-the-World Rumors Attributed To Pastor Owuor

The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness, led by televangelist Prophet Dr. David Owuor, has officially and strongly denied widespread rumors claiming that the world would come to an end on Saturday, August 2, 2025.

In a statement released on Friday, August 1st, the church’s leadership distanced itself from the viral online reports, labeling them as “false, baseless, malicious, and intended to harm” the reputation of Prophet Owuor and the ministry. The statement, signed by Senior Archbishop Michael Nieswand, explicitly condemned the propagation of what it termed as unverified and misleading information.

“The leadership and congregation of The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness strongly denounce the recent spread of false and misleading information about The World Ending on August 2nd, 2025,” the statement read. “These claims are intended to harm not only the reputation of the Prophet of the Lord, Dr. David Owuor, and the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness, but also the unity and testimony of our church.”

The church emphasized that its teachings are in alignment with biblical scripture, specifically quoting Matthew 24:36, which states that “no one knows the day or hour” when the Messiah will return. The ministry has accused certain media houses, bloggers, and social media users of deliberately misinterpreting and twisting the prophet’s messages for malicious purposes.

This is not the first time that such doomsday rumors have been linked to the prominent religious figure. Similar claims went viral in late 2024, prompting the church to issue a clarification at the time. The recurrent nature of these allegations has led the church to urge its followers to be discerning and to rely solely on official communication channels. The statement concluded by calling on believers to “pursue truth, peace, and righteousness” and to refrain from spreading unverified gossip.
