Kanyari Explains Why He Never Re-Married After Separating With Betty Bayo

Pastor Victor Kanyari, the founder of Salvation Healing Ministries, has revealed that his inability to find a partner who meets the standards of his late ex-wife, gospel singer Betty Bayo, is the reason he has not remarried in the seven years since their separation.

Speaking during Betty Bayo’s memorial service on Sunday, November 16, 2025, Kanyari—who shares two children, Dani and Sky Victor, with the late singer—stated that he would rather remain single than risk disrupting his household.

High Standards and Emotional Stability

Kanyari confessed that the women he encounters now lack the qualities he values in a life partner, particularly emotional and mental stability.

“The reason why I have never remarried is that I have never found a woman like Betty Bayo again. The other women I meet are either crazy or lack the qualities I want in a life partner,” Kanyari said.

He was highly critical of potential candidates within his own church, emphasizing that he values sound judgment and intelligence in a partner.

“I have never met a woman in this church who is mentally stable and whom I would consider marrying. The women in this church are not of sound mind, and I know how to read character,” he added.

Protecting His Children and Peace

The preacher explained that his decision is heavily influenced by his commitment to his children and his desire to maintain a peaceful environment for them following their mother’s recent passing. Betty Bayo succumbed to acute leukaemia last week.

Kanyari stressed the need to protect Dani and Sky Victor from any negative influences or unnecessary drama.

“I cannot take someone randomly to trouble my children or myself. I would rather stay alone. I will stay alone,” he shared, highlighting the importance of avoiding partners whose disruptive behavior, or even distracting “social media activity,” could cause him anxiety or upset the balance he has established at home.
