Tanzanian influencer Chief Godlove reveals his source of money is a snake

Tanzania’s rising young tycoon, Chief Godlove, stirred fresh headlines during a recent trip to Nairobi after openly declaring an unusual — and intense — affection for reptiles.

The flamboyant businessman, famous for his fleet of luxury Mercedes cars, toured the Nairobi Snake Park in the company of content creator 2Mbili, where he revealed just how deeply attached he is to the cold-blooded creatures he keeps back home.

Godlove admitted he had missed his reptiles so much that he almost cut his Nairobi visit short just to return to Tanzania and see his snakes.

A Dangerous Fascination

According to the tycoon, his bond with snakes goes far beyond a hobby — he believes they are tied to his fortune.

“A snake is what brings me money,” he declared without hesitation.

Godlove, who describes himself as a “big twin,” insists that snakes cannot harm him. To him, they are more loyal and trustworthy than people.

“I would rather keep a snake than keep a human,” he said, arguing that humans can be malicious, while a snake only bites in self-defence or when it senses a threat.

Eyeing a New Companion

During his tour of the Kenyan reptile centre, Godlove moved comfortably among the snakes, handling one with ease and emphasising the importance of treating the animals gently. A striking white snake caught his eye, and he openly admired it.

“I love snakes more than anything,” he confessed.

He even attempted to buy one of the reptiles at the park, only to be informed that all the animals are government property.

Still determined, the tycoon inquired about the legal requirements for owning snakes in Kenya. Park officials explained that the Kenya Wildlife Service issues permits — including for venomous species — but only to applicants with proper facilities and approvals. Godlove now plans to pursue a licence.

Inside the Nairobi Snake Park

The visit also offered a behind-the-scenes look at how the park’s reptiles are cared for. Godlove was introduced to several species, including a massive python. Curious, he asked what such a giant eats.

Handlers explained that the largest snakes consume about seven kilograms of food once a week, noting that overfeeding can cause the meal to rot inside the snake’s body.

He also encountered a harmless species that feeds solely on eggs and was shown one of the park’s oldest residents — a snake kept there since 1967.

Godlove ended the tour by holding a small, tame snake, claiming his “pure heart” enables him to calm the animals. For him, snakes make the ideal companions: quiet, clean, and — in his eyes — far more trustworthy than people.
