DJ Krowbar Announces Fundraising and Final Send-off Plans For Late Wife, Joyce
Renowned gospel deckmaster Karumba Ngatia, popularly known as DJ Krowbar, has shared the formal arrangements for the farewell of his beloved wife, Joyce Wanjiru Karumba, who passed away on January 26, 2026. After a long and courageous battle with kidney-related complications, the family is now inviting friends, fans, and well-wishers to stand with them during this difficult period.
To ensure Joyce receives a befitting send-off, a fundraising event is scheduled for Friday, January 30, 2026, at 5:00 PM at St. Thomas Hall, All Saints Cathedral. For those who wish to contribute financially, the family has provided Paybill 4815005 with the account name being the sender’s name.
The family has also outlined a series of services to honor Joyce’s life and legacy. Daily prayer meetings are currently being held at All Saints Cathedral every evening at 5:00 PM through Friday. A formal memorial service will then take place on Wednesday, February 4, at Nairobi Chapel on Ngong Road starting at 10:00 AM, followed by the final funeral service in Nyeri on Thursday, February 5.
In a moving statement shared across his social platforms, DJ Krowbar expressed deep appreciation for the outpouring of love and support from Kenyans. He noted that while the family is deeply saddened, they find comfort in their faith and the knowledge that Joyce is now at peace.
Joyce’s health journey was one of immense resilience. After undergoing a kidney transplant in mid-2025, she faced subsequent medical challenges and complications that led to her recent hospitalization and eventual passing. The Karumba family continues to request prayers and privacy as they navigate this final journey.
