P Diddy coming home earlier than expected

Sean Combs is now projected to be released from federal prison earlier than previously expected.

Updated records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons show that his new release date is set for April 25, 2028 — more than five weeks sooner than earlier projections.

Combs, 56, is serving a 50-month sentence at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal correctional facility in New Jersey. He was convicted on two prostitution-related charges following a lengthy and highly publicized legal battle.

Shifting Release Timeline

Since his transfer to Fort Dix in October, Combs’ projected release date has changed multiple times.

  • Initially scheduled for release on May 8, 2028

  • Later adjusted to June 4, 2028

  • Now revised to April 25, 2028

Previous reports by outlets including CBS and TMZ suggested that earlier date adjustments may have been linked to alleged prison rule violations. However, Combs’ representatives denied those claims and declined to provide additional details.

The Charges and Trial

Combs has been in custody since his arrest in September 2024. Prosecutors initially charged the founder of Bad Boy Records with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution.

The case focused on alleged gatherings described during court proceedings as “freak-offs,” involving girlfriends — including singer Cassie Ventura — and male escorts.

Following a seven-week trial last summer, Combs was acquitted of the most serious charges but convicted on lesser prostitution-related offenses. He maintains his innocence and is appealing both his sentence and the statute under which he was prosecuted. A court hearing related to the appeal is scheduled for April.

Life in Prison

While incarcerated, Combs has reportedly taken on duties within the prison chapel library and enrolled in the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP), an intensive rehabilitation initiative that can reduce an inmate’s sentence by up to one year upon completion.

Sources close to the music executive say he has focused on personal development during his time in custody, maintaining a routine centered on rehabilitation and preparation for life after prison.

If the current projection remains unchanged, Combs is expected to be released in the spring of 2028, marking a new phase in a legal saga that has significantly altered both his career and public reputation.
