Peter Salasya Opens Up On Marriage Ambitions Following Prayer Visit

In his trademark candid style, Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has hinted that the time has come to find a partner to help manage his household. Speaking after hosting a delegation of women at his rural home on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the lawmaker suggested that his residence is ready for a “welcoming” presence.

A House in Need of a Matriarch

The conversation was sparked by a visit from local women who gathered at the MP’s home for a prayer session. In a video shared on his social media, Salasya is seen engaging the group in a lively exchange in the Luhya dialect, receiving blessings for his ongoing work in improving local schools and the constituency’s educational infrastructure.

Reflecting on the visit, the MP noted that while he was grateful for the prayers, the event highlighted a missing piece in his domestic life.

“Today, women came to bring prayers to my house. I think this house ought to have a wife, at least to be welcoming guests,” he stated.

The Challenge with Modern Relationships

Despite his openness to marriage, Salasya expressed a specific reservation regarding modern dating dynamics. He voiced concerns over the tendency of some women to monitor their partners’ every move, using the phrase “bamba to bamba” to describe a level of constant surveillance he finds stifling.

“But girls of nowadays just want to live with their husbands ‘bamba to bamba’,” he remarked, suggesting he values a degree of independence within a union.

International Connections and Polygamous Plans

This isn’t the first time the lawmaker has touched on his romantic future. Earlier in March 2026, Salasya revealed that his social circle is already actively helping him scout for potential partners across borders. He mentioned a former university colleague from Garissa and a friend from Madagascar who have both promised to introduce him to suitable matches.

Salasya has been open about his intention to embrace his roots in the Wanga kingdom by pursuing a polygamous lifestyle.

“I am a polygamous man, naturally from the Wanga kingdom,” he previously shared, indicating that once he begins his marital journey, he intends to marry multiple wives.

For now, the MP remains focused on his “medical camp” initiatives and school upgrades, but his latest comments suggest that the search for a Mrs. Salasya—or several—is officially gaining momentum.
