Kenya Power announces interruptions in service for the following counties and estates:

Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions affecting parts of Nairobi, Uasin Gishu and Kwale counties on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, as the utility company carries out scheduled maintenance works.

According to the notice, the power interruptions will run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. in all the affected areas.

Nairobi areas affected

In the Nairobi region, the outage will affect parts of the Nyangumi and Lenana Road areas.

Areas expected to experience interruptions include Lenana Road, Kasuku Road, Nyangumi Road, Yaya Centre, Timau Road, Mtito Andei Road, Mukuyu Lane, Jabavu Road, Thetha Lane and nearby customers.

North Rift region

In Uasin Gishu County, the interruption will affect areas around Chepkoiyo and Mukombozi.

Residents and businesses in Kesses, Chepkoiyo, Ngecheck, Ndubuneti, Mukombozi, Lelmokwo, Lelboinet and surrounding areas are expected to be affected during the maintenance period.

Coast region

In Kwale County, the planned outage will affect Lungalunga and Vanga areas.

Customers in Lungalunga, Horohoro, Kenyaloma, Vanga, Mwangwei and neighbouring areas should prepare for electricity interruptions throughout the day.

Kenya Power has advised affected customers to plan accordingly during the maintenance period as technicians work on the power network.
