Abel Mutua and Judy Nyawira Spark Debate After Claiming Gen Z Are Aging Faster Than Millennials
Popular content creator Abel Mutua and his wife, producer Judy Nyawira, have sparked an online conversation after suggesting that members of Generation Z appear to be aging faster compared to millennials.
In a video shared by the couple, the two discussed their observations about the physical appearance of younger people, claiming that some Gen Z individuals look much older than their actual age.
“Take It to the Bank”
During the conversation, Abel Mutua confidently argued that the younger generation is experiencing a different kind of physical maturity compared to previous generations.
“Gen Zs, you are ageing faster than us. Take it to the bank,” the couple said.
The scriptwriter explained that he often meets people who are only 19 or 20 years old but appear much older because of their physical build and overall appearance.
Mutua jokingly noted that in some situations, he feels he looks younger when standing next to people from the younger generation.
“You meet some of them and when you hear they are 19 or 20, you wonder. How are you 19? If we stand together, I look younger than you,” he said.
Judy Nyawira added to the conversation, agreeing that some young people appear older than expected.
Changing Generational Appearance
The couple suggested that the way younger people present themselves has changed significantly over the years.
Mutua pointed out that many Gen Z individuals appear more physically mature, describing the difference as something he notices regularly.
The two acknowledged that their comments could attract criticism from younger audiences, but maintained that their observations reflect what they see in everyday interactions.
Lifestyle and Environment Debate
The discussion has since expanded beyond appearance, with social media users debating what could be behind the perceived difference.
Some have suggested that lifestyle changes, stress levels, diet, social habits, fashion trends and grooming choices may influence how different generations look.
Others argue that the perception may simply come from changing beauty standards, clothing styles and the way younger people express themselves.
Mixed Online Reactions
The comments sparked a variety of reactions online, with some agreeing with the couple’s observation while others dismissed it as a generational joke.
Some users noted that each generation tends to have similar conversations about the one that comes after it, with millennials and Gen Z often teasing each other about age, lifestyle and culture.
Mutua concluded the conversation humorously, suggesting that despite Gen Z jokes about millennials being older, the age gap may not always be as obvious as expected.
“You laugh at us but know that we look the same,” he joked.
