Kenya Power Announces Planned Electricity Interruptions in Kakamega, Bungoma and Garissa on June 28
Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions scheduled for Sunday, June 28, 2026, affecting parts of Kakamega, Bungoma and Garissa counties.
The scheduled outages are part of routine maintenance works aimed at improving the reliability and quality of electricity supply in the affected areas.
Kakamega County
Residents and businesses in parts of Kakamega County will experience a power interruption affecting the Supa Loaf area.
The outage is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Affected customers include Supa Loaf, County Offices, Aga Khan Hospital, Golf Hotel, Shell Petrol Station, Kakamega Police Station and surrounding areas.
Bungoma County
In Bungoma County, parts of Palm Estate will be affected by the planned maintenance.
The interruption will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Areas expected to experience a power outage include Shikoti Mission, Bishop Etemesi, Elukho Village, Emajembe and neighbouring customers.
Garissa County
A wider outage has been scheduled for the entire Garissa County.
The interruption will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Affected areas include Garissa Referral Hospital, Garissa Ndogo, Bangale, Garissa Provincial Headquarters, Dobale, Bulla Mzuri, Modika Barracks, Garissa County Assembly, Garissa University, Water Treatment Plant, Bulla Iftin, Madogo, KBC, Garissa Solar, Balambala, Governor’s Office and Residence, among other adjacent customers.
Kenya Power has advised customers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements and thanked them for their patience as maintenance works are carried out.
