Media personality Alex Mwakideu has refuted claims that he engineered a recent explosive interview with his sister, gospel singer Rozinah Mwakideu, as a calculated “setup” against her ex-husband, motivational speaker Robert Burale.

Rozinah’s interview, which aired on Alex Mwakideu’s YouTube channel, quickly went viral after she candidly described her brief marriage to Burale as “the biggest mistake of her life” and a “dark chapter.” Given that Mwakideu had also previously interviewed Burale about the marriage, critics online speculated that the back-to-back interviews were a deliberate attempt to corner the city pastor.

A Right of Reply, Not a Setup

In response to the speculation, social media commentators have defended Alex Mwakideu, arguing that his decision to interview his sister was merely a case of offering a “right of reply” in a highly publicized matter.

The controversial interview with Rozinah Mwakideu followed an earlier episode on the same channel where Robert Burale had discussed their failed, one-year marriage, stating that they were simply “two good people who just didn’t work out.”

However, Rozinah’s subsequent rebuttal, aired on October 4, 2025, introduced shocking new details, including allegations of “red flags” and “deep-seated conmanship,” leading many to believe that the interviewer (Rozinah’s brother) had an agenda.

Rozinah’s Explosive Claims

During her tell-all conversation, Rozinah was unflinching in her assessment of the relationship, which ended in divorce in 2013.

“My biggest mistake in life was marrying Robert Burale, and my darkest period was being with him,” she stated. She revealed that she was relieved she did not have children with him, which she now considers a “blessing.”

The dramatic public exchange has fueled a social media debate about the ethics of interviewing close family members on sensitive personal issues, especially when the subject is a public figure like Robert Burale. Despite the intense scrutiny, those close to Mwakideu maintain the interviews were designed to present both sides of the story, even if one side came with a family connection.
