Carol Sonnie Slams Mulamwah’s For Demanding ‘His Teeth’ Back After Breaking Up With Ruth K

Content creator Carol Sonnie has publicly criticized comedian David Oyando, famously known as Mulamwah, following a major controversy over a spiteful comment he made about his ex-partner, Ruth Kirui (Ruth K), specifically targeting her teeth.

During an interview on the Carol Sonnie Show on Monday, December 15, Sonnie questioned Mulamwah’s defense of the remark, dismissing his explanation that the comment—which involved him demanding Ruth K return the teeth he allegedly facilitated a dental procedure for—was unintentional and merely “slipped through.”

The Controversial Comment and Mulamwah’s Defense

The initial controversy erupted in June 2025 during an online spat between Mulamwah and Ruth K, when the comedian publicly demanded the return of his dental investment.

“I have tried to keep quiet for a long time, but it’s now time. You are misusing the platform you’ve been given, and please return my teeth,” Mulamwah stated at the time.

Appearing on Sonnie’s show, Mulamwah tried to backtrack on the severity of the comment:

“Hiyo kitu hata haikuwa niandike, it was not supposed to be there, nilikuwa naandika nafuta (That thing was not even supposed to be written, it was not supposed to be there, I was writing and deleting).”

However, Carol Sonnie was unconvinced by his explanation, challenging the notion of a simple slip-up: “Really? It didn’t have to get there. You didn’t think about it before kuandika (before writing it)?” she posed.

Mulamwah defended himself by stating he had written several versions of the post and admitted that the specific, personal section should not have been included.

Mulamwah’s “War is War” Philosophy

Despite admitting the regrettable nature of the post, Mulamwah maintained a firm and combative stance on public disputes, warning that confrontation comes with consequences.

“War is war. If you are in a war with someone, you better be ready. If you want peace, this is peace, but if you want war you will get war because everyone is protecting their space. Hautaniingilia tu nikungoje kwa nini (You won’t just attack me and expect me to wait),” he asserted.

The Bitter Breakup Context

The ongoing tension stems from the acrimonious breakup between Mulamwah and Ruth K, which went public  in June this year.

Mulamwah blamed Ruth K for the failure of their relationship, citing the negative influence of friends who were allegedly jealous of their union. He claimed she moved out of their home to Ruaka after receiving financial deals and becoming “proud,” which led to her disrespecting him and his parents.

The most damaging accusation Mulamwah leveled was that Ruth K created a WhatsApp group of 84 women to falsely claim he was HIV positive, which, he alleged, caused him to lose sponsors for his stand-up show.

Ruth K subsequently offered her own account on Instagram, lamenting the continuous public and private disrespect she faced barely three months after the split. She accused Mulamwah of performing disrespectful gestures, such as sending Ksh $5,000$ only to reverse the transaction, while still screenshotting and posting photos of her and their child without providing consistent financial support.

“I’m trying to heal, gather myself emotionally, but it’s draining. You send Ksh $5,000$ and reverse it, then have the nerve to screenshot a photo I put so much effort into? The audacity is loud. Enough is enough. I take my respect back. One day I will tell my story,” she declared at the time.
