Crazy Kennar Debuts First Feature Film Iscariot As Stepping Stone To Oscar Dream
Popular Kenyan content creator Kennedy Odhiambo, known professionally as Crazy Kennar, is marking a major shift in his career by releasing his debut feature film, “Iscariot,” premiering tonight, November 25, 2025, at 8 PM on his YouTube channel.
The release represents a critical milestone in Kennar’s steady pursuit of his ultimate professional ambition: winning an Oscar.
Committing to the Oscar Goal
The comedian-turned-filmmaker took to his X account to reflect on his journey, reiterating a goal he set five years ago.
“Five years ago, I stated that I was on a journey to win an Oscar. Today I am releasing my 1st movie as the director and writer, step by step, till I reach the goal. I know I will get there,” Kennar affirmed.
Kennar’s release of Iscariot, where he serves as both director and writer, showcases his successful transition from short-form comedy sketches to complex, long-form storytelling. To further sharpen his skills, he is currently studying creative writing at AFDA in Johannesburg.
This project follows his earlier success with the film “My Name Is Omosh,” which premiered in February 2025. In that production, Kennar wrote the screenplay and played the lead role, while Kenyan rapper King Kaka took the directorial credit.
The creator’s ambition has already earned him international recognition, including an award won in Nigeria in November 2024, cementing his growing influence beyond Kenyan borders.
