Kanyari recounts hilarious exchange with daughter, Sky, over crop tops

Pastor Victor Kanyari has hilariously opened up about a moment his daughter, Sky, turned one of his own sermons against him after he tried to discourage her from wearing crop tops.

Speaking during his midweek church service on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, Kanyari revealed that his daughter loves wearing crop tops, a fashion trend he admitted he is not very comfortable with.

“Sky likes wearing those clothes that leave the whole stomach out. What are they called again? Crop tops, yes. She really likes them, but honestly, I don’t like them that much,” he said.

Daughter Uses His Sermon Against Him

According to the preacher, he once attempted to advise his daughter against wearing the revealing outfits, hoping she would reconsider her fashion choices.

However, Sky reportedly responded with a sharp reminder from one of his own past sermons.

Kanyari explained that he had previously preached that children should stick to children’s fashion while adults focus on adult attire. His daughter quickly used that teaching to defend her crop tops.

“She reminded me that I once preached saying children should wear children’s clothes and adults should wear adult clothes. So when I questioned her about the crop tops, she told me to also stick to adult clothes and leave children’s fashion alone,” he narrated.

‘I Had No Response’

The preacher admitted that after hearing the comeback, he found himself with no argument left and simply accepted defeat.

“I did not even argue with her after that. I just agreed with her reasoning,” he said jokingly.

Kanyari then left congregants laughing after humorously imagining himself trying out the same fashion trend.

“That’s why you see me dressed like an adult. I cannot wear crop tops. Imagine me with this big stomach wearing a crop top,” he joked as the church burst into laughter.
