Kenya power announces maintenance in the following areas
Kenya Power has announced a scheduled electricity maintenance exercise set to affect several areas across the country on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
The planned outages will impact parts of Nairobi and the Mt. Kenya region, with power interruptions expected throughout the day as technicians carry out routine maintenance and system upgrades.
Nairobi Region
In Kitsuru, electricity supply will be interrupted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The outage will affect the entire stretch of Kitsuru Road and all adjacent customers.
Mt. Kenya Region
In parts of Tharaka Nithi County, specifically around Magundu and Ndumbini markets, power will be unavailable from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Areas set to be affected include Ndumbini Primary School, Kaaganjo Primary School, Muragara Secondary School, Igangara Secondary School, and nearby customers.
In a separate maintenance schedule within the same region, areas around Tungu Factory and Ntutuni Catholic Church will experience outages from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Advisory to Residents
Kenya Power has advised affected customers to plan accordingly and treat all electrical installations as live during the maintenance period.
The utility company noted that the scheduled interruptions are necessary to improve service reliability and ensure efficient power distribution in the affected areas.
