Kenya Power Announces Planned Outages Across Multiple Regions on April 29

The Kenya Power has scheduled electricity maintenance works set to affect several parts of the country on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
The planned outages will run for several hours during the day as the utility undertakes routine maintenance aimed at improving power reliability.
Nairobi areas affected
In Nairobi, two key areas will experience power interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Spring Valley: Sections of Spring Valley, including Bendera Lane and nearby areas, will be affected.
Kilimani – Ngong Road: Power cuts will also hit parts of Kilimani along Ngong Road, including areas near Coptic Hospital, China Centre, Muchai Drive, and parts of Kindaruma Drive.
North Rift Region
In Uasin Gishu County, areas including Kesses, Lelmolok, Kipsamoo, and Cheptiret will experience outages from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Western Region
Parts of Kakamega County, specifically the Musaga area, will face power interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Affected locations include Samitsi, Malaya Market, Malaya District Hospital, Malichi, Kimangeti, and Tumbeni.
Mt. Kenya Region
Several areas in Nyeri County will be affected between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Kagumo High – Kirichu: Areas around Kagumo High School, Kirichu Market, Ndurutu, Kiganjo Estate, Gachika High School, Kang’ong’a, Ndathi-Ini, and surrounding locations.
Kiawara – Ruirie – Nairutia: Locations including Lachuta, Kiawara, Lamuria, Bellevue, Ruirie, Kariminu, Tanyai, Nairutia, Mugunda, Ngobit, and Kariguini.
Kangocho – Mwanda: Areas such as Kangocho Coffee Factory, Karumaindo, Mwanda Market, Gichathaini, Kiunyu, Thengeini, Bishop Kirima, and Ihara will also be affected.
Coast Region
In Taita-Taveta County, the Mlundinyi area will experience outages from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Ndome, Mlundinyi, Tausa, Lukasinyi, Salaita, and nearby areas.
Advisory to customers
Kenya Power has advised residents and businesses in the affected areas to plan ahead, noting that electricity supply will be restored once maintenance work is completed. Customers are also encouraged to unplug sensitive appliances to avoid damage during the outage period.
