Kenya Power Announces Tuesday, July 7 Planned Outages in Nairobi, Nyeri, Kwale, Kilifi and Kisii Counties

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions in several counties on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, to facilitate routine maintenance and upgrades to the power network.

The planned outages will affect parts of Nairobi, Nyeri, Kisii, Kwale and Kilifi counties, with most areas expected to experience power interruptions between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Nairobi County

Parts of Lang’ata

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The outage will affect parts of Lang’ata Road and surrounding areas, including Panda Mart, Galleria Mall, Muiri Lane, MAC Frys, KWS Club, Lang’ata Crematorium, Kenya Wildlife Service Headquarters, Lang’ata Barracks, Camp David Lang’ata, KRA offices, Jambo Estate, Shree Cutch Samaj, Cale Infrastructure, EPCO, Tamarind, Trident Park, Carnivore Restaurant, Gulf Energy, Daisy Park, Oyster Mews, Westpark, Phenom Park, Phenom Estate, Serene Gardens, Dorothy Park and neighbouring customers.

Kisii County

Parts of Suneka

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Areas to be affected include Suneka Market, Rubis Petrol Station, Ekerorano, Sugunana and nearby customers.

Nyeri County

Endarasha, Kanyagia and Charity

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The planned maintenance will affect Uaso Nyiro, Mairo, Kinyaiti, Hill Side, Kabati, Isaaco, Sangare, Mahiga, Endarasha Secondary School, Charity, Kimunyuru, Nganoini, Embaringo, Watuka and adjacent areas.

Karima, Gura and Muthinga

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Customers in Karima Mission, Gatugi Coffee Factory, Gatugi Water Supply, Mbari ya Ngai, Giathenge Market, Gathera Market, Agakui, Gura Thuthi Research Centre, Gura Water Project, Gathaithi Water Pump, Father Nyamu Secondary School, Kiagi and neighbouring areas will also be without electricity during the maintenance period.

Kwale County

Mshiu, Mrima and Lunga Lunga

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The outage will affect Mshiu, Mwangwei, Majoreni, Mrima, Lunga Lunga, Vanga, Horohoro, Mwangulu and surrounding areas.

Msambweni and Kikoneni

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Residents and businesses in Msambweni, Shimba Hills, Kikoneni, Kidimu, Mwazaro, Shimoni KPA, Shimoni Navy, Shimoni Reef I and adjacent areas are also expected to experience power interruptions.

Kilifi County

Parts of Watamu

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The maintenance will affect Temple Point, Kaanan, Jiwe Jeupe, Dongo Kundu, Watamu Village, Lonho Lodge, Jacaranda, Plot 5 to Plot 40, Kika, Kobe, Watamu Hospital, Watamu Police Station, Peponi, Liedl, Dongo Kundu Primary School, Turtle Bay and neighbouring customers.

Kenya Power advises customers

Kenya Power has advised customers in the affected areas to plan ahead for the scheduled interruption, noting that the maintenance works are necessary to improve the reliability and stability of electricity supply.

Power is expected to be restored once the maintenance exercise is completed, although restoration times may vary depending on the progress of the works.
