Oga Obinna reacts as Andrew Kibe accepts Peter Salasya’s Vurugu 3 boxing challenge
Media personality Steve Thompson Maghana, popularly known as Oga Obinna, has welcomed Andrew Kibe’s decision to accept Mumias East MP Peter Salasya’s boxing challenge, saying the highly anticipated Vurugu 3 showdown now appears closer to becoming a reality.
Kibe announced on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, that he was ready to face Salasya in the celebrity boxing event, adding that he would only begin training after the legislator signed a legally binding agreement.
The outspoken content creator also proposed that the fight take place in December to give both fighters adequate time to prepare.
“So I’ve decided to accept Ka Salasya’s offer to whoop his ass. We do this in December to give me time to train, but only after he signs makalatas ndiyo naanza training,” Kibe wrote.
He also took a playful swipe at the MP, adding:
“Huwezi trust Mluhya anaeza ruka story anytime.”
Obinna says the fight is taking shape
Reacting to Kibe’s announcement, Obinna expressed optimism that the much-talked-about contest could finally happen.
However, he first urged Kibe’s supporters to verify that the social media account announcing the acceptance was genuine before encouraging Salasya to begin preparing for the bout.
“I think we have a MATCH!! KIBE vs SALASYA #Vurugu3 #ObinnaTVStudios. Hebu mafans wa Kibe waconfirm kama ni real account. @peter_salasya anza tizi gathee,” Obinna posted.
Obinna had already pledged millions
Obinna’s excitement comes just days after he publicly backed Salasya’s challenge and committed an initial KSh2 million prize purse for the fight.
The Vurugu founder also said the prize money could rise to KSh5 million through sponsorships and partnerships if Kibe officially agreed to step into the ring.
“@peter_salasya, your wish is my command. Talk to him to accept the challenge. We start by putting in 2M hard cash. I’m sure it can get to 5M #Vurugu3,” Obinna wrote.
He also joked that the prize money would be of greater benefit to Kibe than to the legislator.
“Salasya doesn’t really need the money; his opponent does. Let’s go!!!”
Attention shifts to Salasya
The proposed boxing match follows months of online exchanges between Kibe and Salasya, with fans repeatedly calling for the rivalry to be settled inside the ring.
With Kibe now publicly accepting the challenge, focus now shifts to whether Salasya will complete the necessary arrangements and formally sign the agreement needed to make the Vurugu 3 fight official.
