Man Claims to Be Peter Salasya’s Biological Father, Appeals for Reunion
A man has publicly come forward, claiming to be the biological father of Mumias East MP Peter Salasya, in a now-viral video that has stirred curiosity and debate.
The man alleges that he and Salasya’s mother separated when the MP was just three months old. Decades later, he is appealing for a reunion with his son, whom he repeatedly refers to as “my son, the MP.”

A Father’s Long-Awaited Plea
Speaking in the video, the man—whose identity has not been fully disclosed—asserts with confidence that he is Salasya’s father. He recalls the separation from the MP’s mother, blaming it on what he described as her “tough-headed” nature.
“Eh, na tuliachana na mamake akiwa na miezi 3, just after he was born.”
He claims to have spent years searching for them and is now urging Salasya to meet him face-to-face:
“I am even trying to find where they went because he is my son. So, I’m appealing to Salasya himself to come out and look at my face himself.”
Life in Busia and a Past of Means
The man says he hails from Busia, specifically the Marachi estate, and once lived a comfortable life. He described himself as a wealthy man during his youth, involved in “magendo” (smuggling).
“I used to do ‘magendo’. I had money for sure… I am a child of Busia.”
An Emotional Appeal
His tone turns emotional as he speaks about the years lost:
“I just want to find him… I even hurt myself for what I can gain from him.”

He questions why the MP has not tried to find him:
“Why don’t you look for your father? You couldn’t even look for him when you were three months old?”
Public Calls for Reconnection
In the background of the recording, other voices can be heard urging the MP to meet the man, one saying:
“Please, Salasya, look for your father. Help the old man see his son.”
The man concludes with a firm declaration of his identity:
“I am that one now.”
As of the time of publication, Peter Salasya—known for his populist style and strong public engagement—has not issued any statement regarding the man’s claims.
