It appears Obinna’s persistence in music is paying off. His new song “Namposti was released yesterday and it now has 500,000 views in a day. This makes it the number one trending song in Kenya, dethroning the likes of “Komasava” and “Anguka Nayo” from the top spot. The song features rapper GoonJoe. Dem wa Facebook, Obinna’s co-host on the Obinna show also features as a video vixen. The implication of the video is that Obinna is launching Dem wa Facebook as his new girlfriend, but it may also be a comedic bit.

The success of this song comes after many had criticized Obinna’s previous releases, claiming that he could not sing. There was a time Obinna was releasing a new song every week and none was taking off. But as they say, persistence pays and this is a clear demonstration of that.
