Planned Power Maintenance to Affect Parts of Nairobi and Nyeri on April 24

Nairobi: Westlands and surrounding areas
In Nairobi, the maintenance will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting a wide section of the Westlands area. Locations set to experience outages include Raphta Road, Lantana Road, parts of Sports Road, East Church Road, David Osieli Road, Muthithi Road, St. Michael Road, Church Road, and Maiga Mairu Road.
Key establishments and nearby customers that will be impacted include Chandarana Supermarket on Raphta Road, Rehema House, PrideInn Azure Hotel, Consolata Catholic Church, Kipro Centre, Oracle Towers, Delta Towers, and parts of Westlands Avenue and Ring Road.
Nyeri County: Kirurumi, Gaithuri and Gatumbiro areas
In Nyeri County, the outage will also occur between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., affecting areas such as Gatumbiro, Kiandongoro, Gaithuri, and surrounding villages.
Critical infrastructure including Safaricom and Airtel booster stations, as well as institutions like Huhoini Secondary School, will also be impacted.
Advisory to residents
Kenya Power has advised customers in the affected areas to plan accordingly, as electricity supply will be temporarily unavailable during the maintenance period. The planned works are part of routine efforts to improve network reliability and ensure stable power supply in the long term.
