Rozinah Mwakideu reveals her mother warned her about Robbert Burale

In a deeply personal interview shared on Alex Mwakideu’s YouTube channel, Rozinah Mwakideu opened up about her brief marriage to preacher Robert Burale, calling it the darkest period of her life and a mistake she still regrets.

The video, aptly titled “My Biggest Mistake Was Marrying Robert Burale,” offers an unfiltered look into her pain, the lessons she learned, and the warning signs she says she overlooked.

Breaking Her Silence

In Season 2, Episode 7 of the show, Rozinah recounted how she met Burale, married him within a year, and separated just “one year and two days” later.

She admitted ignoring her mother’s warning, saying, “My mother told me she saw darkness in that marriage, but I didn’t listen.”

Rozinah recalled being taken to Burale’s family home in Karen under the pretext of visiting her brother. The visit lasted nearly a month, during which she says they shared a room but remained celibate — something she later interpreted as being more about control than mutual decision.

She also revealed that she received anonymous messages and social media warnings about Burale’s character, but he brushed them off as envy and jealousy from others.

Burale’s Side of the Story

In contrast, Robert Burale has previously offered a softer explanation for their split.
During a 2018 interview, he cited poor communication and limited quality time as the main causes of their separation.

The pair’s conflicting narratives have long drawn public curiosity — with Rozinah implying issues of control and mistrust, while Burale frames the breakup as a result of relational challenges.

Healing and Moving On

Now 50, Rozinah says she has healed and grown from the experience but still considers marrying Burale her biggest mistake.
