Sammy Kioko Is Now Selling His Car To Fund Sister’s Medical Treatment Abroad

Comedian and businessman Sammy Kioko has announced he is selling the car he won as a grand prize in the 2018 Ultimate Comic Challenge. This decision comes just a week after he publicly demanded payment from Machakos County Governor Wavinya Ndeti, highlighting his current financial strain.

In a video shared on his Facebook account on Monday, November 3, 2025, Kioko revealed the reason behind disposing of his eight-year-old vehicle: raising funds for his sister’s urgent medical care abroad.

A Heartbreaking Decision

Kioko spoke emotionally about the car, which has been an integral part of his career success since he won the reality show.

“So this morning, for those who know me, know that this car has been a blessing to me for eight years… you know how I acquired this car, and this car has been a huge blessing to me,” Kioko shared with his followers.

He explained that his primary goal for November was to finance a trip for his sister to seek essential medical attention overseas, but time and finances are pressing.

“Sometimes, as a man, you have to do what you can, even if it hurts, so this car I want to dispose of, nataka kubariki pia mtu nayo (I want to bless someone with it too) with a good price,” Kioko pleaded. He urged serious buyers to reach out directly with a good offer, prioritizing his sister’s health: “Time is not on our side.”

Flashback: The Ultimate Comic Challenge Win

Sammy Kioko was crowned the winner of Kenya’s Ultimate Comic—a reality show on Maisha Magic East—eight years ago. The victory earned him a substantial prize package that included Ksh1 million in cash, a car, and a one-year TV contract.

The televised stand-up show, produced in partnership with Daniel ‘Churchill’ Ndambuki, was launched in 2017 to discover and nurture new comedy talent. Kioko emerged as the best among six contestants after 22 weeks of knockout rounds. At the time, he expressed gratitude, stating: “I hope to use my talent to move to greater heights in the industry and influence other comedians positively.”

Now, the car symbolizing that significant career victory is being sacrificed for a critical family need.
