Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Paul Ongili Owino alias Babu Owino has revealed that he has spent Ksh58.6 million on the treatment of Felix Orinda, popularly known as DJ Evolve. Owino was charged with shooting Evolve at a club in Kilimani, Nairobi county in January 2016. He was found guilty and sentenced to serve seven years in prison. However, he was released on bail pending appeal.
In his defence, Owino told the court that he was not responsible for the shooting. He said that his gun was not loaded and that the bullet that hit Evolve could have come from another gun.
Owino also told the court that he had spent a lot of money on Evolve’s treatment. He said that he had paid for Evolve’s medical bills, as well as for his rehabilitation and physiotherapy.
The court heard that Evolve had suffered serious injuries as a result of the shooting. He had to undergo surgery to remove the bullet from his neck, and he had to learn to walk again.
Owino said that he was sorry for what had happened to Evolve. He said that he had never intended to hurt him.
The court has yet to make a ruling on Owino’s appeal. However, his revelation about the amount of money he has spent on Evolve’s treatment has drawn mixed reactions. Some people have praised him for his generosity, while others have criticized him for not taking responsibility for his actions.
It remains to be seen how the court will rule on Owino’s appeal. However, his revelation about the amount of money he has spent on Evolve’s treatment is a reminder of the serious consequences of gun violence.
It would appear slay-queens have a champion in the form of Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino who has decided to speak out against and even fight against proposed plans by Ruto’s government to tax wigs and makeup.
The proposed taxes are hidden within the Finance Bill 2023 and Kenyans are upset that it seems everything he can possibly tax will indeed be taxed.
Babu Owino
Speaking to members of the media bubble window claimed this was a tax being imposed specifically on Kenyan women and he went on to say that they wear these things to attract tourists which is why Kenya is such a great tourist destination.
“I want to tell you that a government that is stealing from our ladies is not a good government and the real man should not steal from ladies our ladies are now putting on this leaves the wings to attract tourists and the main tourist attraction are these beautiful ladies so Kenya will lose billions”
Babu Owino is a jack of all trades. The Embakasi East Member of Parliament holds two degrees from the University of Nairobi with one being a degree in Acturial Science and the other being a degree in Law.
On top of this, he has been credited with helping digitally tutor Kenyan students during the confusion that was occasioned by the Covid-19 lockdowns as education ground to a halt and some of the students that performed well thanked him for his role in their success.
Politician Babu Owino
So to say he is a smart man is an understatement. But what few know about Babu Owino is the fact that he is a Karateka. And a damned fine one.
While it is unclear just how long he has been training, he shared a video of himself taking on a sparring partner and he put paws (and feet) on him. Check out the video below:
Raila Odinga was teargassed on Monday following the pre-planned protests that involved netizens taking to the streets to ‘take action’.
Raila spearheaded the demos after he claimed that netizens had had enough of the current government for raising the cost of living. Further, baba continues to claim that he was rigged victory of last year’s elections.
For the latter reasons, a section of netizens inclined to his cry. The streets of Nairobi and Kisumu were filled to the brim by baba’s supporters; preparing for the demos.
Politician Babu Owino
Babu Owino being one of his biggest supporters, shows immense support for him. And for the demos, Owino claims baba shouldn’t be arrested at any point.
He divulged the same in a recent interview, where he purported that the thought of arresting him would be treason.
”Harbouring an intention to arrest baba amounts to treason. If you want this country to go down, try to arrest baba. Just even utter that you want to arrest Raila.”
Raila yesterday announced that the protests would go run on Mondays and Thursdays. Following the protests, Riggy G was displeased and accused former President Uhuru for being involved in the protests by helping to fund it. Watch Owino’s sentiments here
New Years must have been fun for many, that is judging from the number of events that were lined up for that specific night.
There are those who went to church, others clubs but most were out to party at the various events i.e the Konshen event; not forgetting the failed Omah Lay event at the coast.
However judging from the feedback given out by fans from all the New year events; looks like Konshen’s not only gave fans a night to remember; but the fans themselves also got to entertain themselves in various ways including – fights.
Well, I say this thanks to a viral video showing a couple of drunk girls fight during the Carnivore event; and the funniest part is, social media users are convinced that Babu Owino was among those who were involved in the fight as seen in a viral video shared online.
‘Wasn’t me’ Babu Owino
Looking at the video, one can say Babu Owino was definitely part of the fight; that is after his look alike appears on the clip for about 3 seconds before disappearing in the crowd.
Having seen the video himself and seeing how fans on social media are talking; Hon Babu Owino on January 2nd issued a statement distancing himself from the viral video as he wrote;
Babu Owino speaks
With due respect,I was not at the Konshens’ party,and the man purported to be me in the video doing rounds is NOT me.
According to Babu Owino, at the time Konshen’s was performing – he (Babu) was busy carrying out his husbandly duties on his lovely wife.
The time Konshens was performing I was also performing on my wife and she can attest to this.People at the Konshens’ party should also confirm that I was not there
Hours after Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi announced that DJ Evolve had dropped his case against Babu Owino; the politician has now opened up in a detailed post aimed at thanking Wvolve for the kindness.
As seen on the statement issued online, Babu Owino thanked the court for allowing both him and Evolve to solve their issues out of court. He also went on to applaud DJ Evolve for making the right decision (despite the pressure from the public) and for standing for what he believes is right.
DJ Evolve
Babu Owino’s statement read;
STATEMENT
DECEMBER 16, 2021
GOD IN IT.
I welcome the recent decision of the Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi in which the court allowed DJ Evolve and I to resolve matters while embracing Alternative Dispute Resolution. I thank the court for being bold enough to uphold the restorative principles of Justice enshrined in the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
Praises Evolve for bravery
The case being of public interest, Babu Owino is aware that many would have preferred seeing him behind bars; but thanks to his close friend, DJ Evolve – this will never befall on the Embakasi East MP.
Thanking DJ Evolve for being fair, Babu Owino went on to add;
DJ Evolve is a brave and inspirational young man. I remain indebted to him for the gracious manner in which he has carried himself during this obviously challenging time.
As for those who were not aware of the relationship Babu Owino and DJ Evolve had before the incident; the MP updated them saying;
We were close friends and have become even closer through this Damascus moment and I am committed to honoring my part of the agreement.
Thank you.
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino is not ashamed of his past. In fact, he is willing to use his past life experiences to educate the youths; and thanks to an interview he did with Robert Alai – we get to know how his experience with drugs.
Just like most youths, Babu Owino says that he has used all types of drugs that is from soft to hard drugs. The fella said;
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino
Personally, I’ve consumed everything. I’ve consumed soft drugs, moderate drugs and even hard drugs. But I didn’t see the benefit of it because it almost led to my destruction.
Just to give an example of some of the drugs he has used before, Babu went on to say;
I have done a lot of drugs, I’ve done cocaine, heroin and many brands of alcohol but that was in my last life and I have to admit that these drugs impair your judgement and they don’t help the body in any way. If anything, they do a lot of harm to the body.
Babu shares more details
Seeing how his interview with friend Robert Alai was getting recognition on social media; the politician shared a detailed post through his gram talking about the importance of recognizing the struggle of drug abuse in our society. He wrote;
Babu Owino
KENYAN SOCIETY NEEDS TO CONFRONT THE REALITY OF DRUG USE AMONG THE YOUTH. My attention has been draw to a clip circulating on social media from an interview I did with my friend Robert Alai about my history with drugs of abuse. I wish to take this opportunity to give that clip some context.
How it all began
On the same post, Babu Owino mentioned how and why he found himself drowning in drugs like most youths. The young leader said;
Yes, I can confirm that in the past, like many young Kenyans struggling with identity, I fell victim to drugs of abuse. I was in a dark place in my life; everything appeared rosy to the public but inside, I was struggling with my demons and my outlet was alcohol and drugs.
Testimony
On the same post, Babu added that his main reason for the interview is to educate Kenyans on the effects of drugs; and him being a public figure means his story is the perfect example. He went on to add;
The reason I went public with this very personal testimony is to show my fellow young Kenyans that your past does not have to define your future. I knew that there would be varied reactions to my story – “How can an MP be involved in something like that? But your life appears to be so good? What do you struggle with compared to ordinary people?”
And…
Drugs do not distinguish between rich and poor, young and old, male or female; it can affect anybody! But you do not have to carry the mistakes of yesterday into today. It IS possible to break free from the yoke of drug use and turn your life around.
Word of advice
To those who continue to battle with their demons on the low; the politician encouraged them not give into the ‘devils’ whispers saying;
I can confirm that with the help of God, I have broken the chains of darkness. I have been alcohol and drug free for over one year and thanks to the invaluable support of my lovely wife, my friends and the people of Embakasi East, I have managed to reclaim my story.I no longer have a secret with the devil.
And in conclusion, he wrote;
I know there are many of you out there struggling with drug use. I know how it can seem so hopeless. God can do for you what no man can. Trust in God and don’t be afraid to make that first step. It is possible! I hope through this testimony, I can provoke a long overdue conversation about the reality of drug abuse in Kenyan society.
Light skinned politician Babu Owino is not loved by many; but the sad part is that he doesn’t really care. Even after the DJ Evolve incident, Babu Owino maintained his ego till date; and despite this being considered as a first degree attempted murder case – he remains free.
Babu Owino at a police station
Away from that, we all know that Babu Owino has a beautiful family he goes home to after a whole day of playing politician. Just like most prominent people in Kenya, Mr Babu rarely puts his family on social media display; hence making it hard for bloggers to write anything about them.
However, we have seen his wife through several photos; but just recently as the world marked Women’s Day – Babu decided to unveil a never seen before photo of his darling wife. In the post the young politician went on to write;
Happy women’s day to my Mum,my lovely,supportive,beautiful,respectful,Prayerful,God given and very intelligent wife and all women in kenya.May God grant all women what they desire in life.
Stunning beauty
As seen on the photo, Mrs Owino stepped out in a hot ‘electric crimson red’ gown that left her looking like the queen she is.
Just from her smile, it’s easy to tell that wherever she was headed with hubby Babu Owino; who is seen in a red bow tie and sleek suit – must have been special.
Well, let’s just say that Babu made the right choice in picking a fashionable lady with both beauty and brains. Anyway below is the photo that has left many ogling at Mheshimiwa’s hot wife!
A few days ago a poster showing that Otile Brown will be vying for the Embakasi East seat emerged on social media exciting many. However, this poster was not received well by Babu Owino who chose to throw shade at Otile by referring to him as a slay King.
Well, whether a slay king or not Otile Brown definitely left Babu Owino fighting paranoia of being replaced come 2022. This is because the MP probably knew his people would support the hunk singer; especially since he failed in terms of fulfilling his promises of building roads in Embakasi.
However on Monday, 7 September Babu Owino availed himself to the people of Embakasi East; and as seen on his caption, Babu was there to help sort out some of their problems. On one of his videos, he wrote;
Today at the United Republic of Embakasi East (UREE) with my bosses solving challenges facing them.
PR at work?
Seeing that he may not be as irreplaceable as he thought; Babu has now started showing signs of delivering some of his unfulfilled promises. But why now?
Being a celebrity means your life is now exposed to the public. This gives netizens the power to air their different about opinions and if one can’t handle it; then you find them having bitter exchange on social media. But question is, if they can’t handle the pressure, then why sign up for it in the first place!
Zari Hassan the boss lady
Having dated Diamond Platnumz, Zari not only exposed her personal life but kids to online criticism from online fans. However everytime fans blast her for living a fake life, Zari always steps down from her throne to argue with fans. Wasting time and energy!
So far the president of single mums has proven that online criticism bring out the worst in her. Just a few days ago she went on to threaten radio presenter Massawe Jappani after finding out the questions she was throwing at Vesha Okello.
Well as much as Massawe was wrong, I bet at 23 years Ms Vesha could have dismissed some of the personal questions asked; but she chose to respond. Akothee on the other hand chose to use this against Massawe by showering her with insults!
Lilian Muli
Celebrity lives are hard and Ms Muli can tell you this for free. So far she has proven to have ‘roho ndogo’ hence her bitter exchange with fans who sometimes body shame, insult and pick on her. I mean would it really hurt to mute and ignore criticism? Lilian Muli is a brand, but sometimes she tends to easily forget this!
Khaligraph Jones
Khaligraph Jones known for his ‘savage’ clap backs
They call him the king of savage clapback but i can tell you that rapper Jones often lets fear of being embarrassed take over him. Most of the rappers on his level barely pay attention at comments from fans; but try throw shade at Khali and see if it won’t itch him to respond!
Babu Owino
Remember the last time Kenyans demanded justice for DJ Evolve? Of course. Babu Owino went on to have a bitter exchange with those who called him out; and despite his Degree in Law, his arguments sounded gibberish especially with the ‘mama yako’ insults!
Although Vera Sidika seems to have retired or tired of the socialite life; this particular lady is known to engage with fans especially well insulted.
The last time she was exposed for living in Gachie and not Kitisuru….Vera decided to parade her new mansion in mombasa not forgetting the flaunt the fashionable Gucci, LV among others to those claiming she is broke.
Babu Owino recently opened up revealing the traumatizing childhood he had back in the day; when he was still living with his mum and sibling in Nyalenda slums, Kisumu County.
According to the Embakasi East MP, his childhood was not only ruined by the police who constantly gave his Mum a hard time; but also the fact that he started taking Chang’aa while still quit young.
However despite growing under such circumstances Babu managed to make something out of himself; and as we speak, the boy from Nyalenda slums is now an MP – but sadly with a bad reputation.
For months now Babu Owino has become an enemy to most Kenyans who demand justice for DJ Evolve who was shot by the MP following a small argument.
Fortunately the incident was caught on camera; making it hard for Babu Owino to deny that he was the one who shot the young DJ. However till now Babu Owino remains free, something that angers Kenyans; who still find it hard to believe that Justice goes to the highest bidder in Kenya.
Seeing that Kenyans on social media will not let this go; Babu Owino has since been working with his PR team and from the look of this the MP appears to be on a mission to win back all the fans he lost.
For this reason, this past weekend Babu attended a church service and thanks to the photographers he hired; they managed to get a photo that seems to be impressing Kenyans!
Well, being the first time he is seen praying on his knees; a few fans on social media now feel that he should be pardoned for his mistakes as he appears to have changed. Babu went on to caption the photo;
Babu Owino on his knees
God I’m a sinner may you forgive me of my sins.
But do you think the photo above proves Babu Owino is now a changed man?
He also revealed that he it has been 6 months since he touched alcohol adding that he wants to maintain that habit.
“I just want to serve the people and that I will not drink alcohol again. Although, I don’t mind those who are drinking,” Babu stated.
DJ Evolve
Interestingly, this comes after he came under sharp criticism on social media for abandoning DJ Evolve whom he shot at B-Club on January, 17.
The way I see it, Babu is trying to get sympathy from the public who have repeatedly called for his jailing over the incident that left the mix master paralyzed.
Initially, the legislator used to act like he didn’t really care about what befell DJ Evolve but after a lot of pressure he swung into action and paid part of his hospital bill.
Babu Owino
I am aware that he has apologized a number of times but if you ask me, he deserves no sympathy at all because his action looked intentional.
What pains me the most about the said incident is how they dragged DJ Evolve out of the club like he did not matter to them. In case you have not seen the video, here it is.
Most of us have been following this case closely and we won’t stop talking about it until Babu is jailed for the heinous act that he committed. This is a heartless man who deserves no mercy at all.
For Babu to think that a video of him narrating how his mother had to sell illicit liquor so that they can afford a meal will make us forget what he did, then he must be living on Mars. Enough said.
Babu Owino this past weekend gave Kenyans on social media a show that many will never forget.
For the first time the Embakasi East legislator narrated how his childhood in Nyalenda slums, Kisumu County was; as well as blaming it for his current violent behavior!
Turns out that Babu Owino did not have the usual normal childhood as his mother sold Chang’aa; an illicit brew, just to make ends meet.
Being the breadwinner of the family meantshe had no option but to hustle for her child! Speaking through his social media pages, Babu Owino opened up saying;
Babu Owino
Today I have decided to talk to fellow Kenyans heart-to-heart and in the course of my duties I have been engaging you on various platforms on social media and I sense your anger. I sense that some of you are hurt and some are disappointed with me. I am a human being like you,
About his mother, being among those who sold the illicit brew meant that their family often faced police brutality; and even at some point Babu went on to reveal that he watched them whip his mum.
My mother sold chang’aa. She did not sell chang’aa because she wanted to but because she wanted us to go to school and to get the best services. Police harassment was real, and I witnessed them whipping my mother
Tasting Chang’aa
Being a common drink in most slums, Babu says kids get to taste it when they are quite young; and since no one is around to observe what happens, Babu says he then got to have his first Chang’aa at the age of 8 years. He opened up saying;
Babu Owino with his two grown daughters
At around eight years, I tasted chang’aa. I did it because it was what everyone was doing around, and it was the normal thing to do. Out of influence, I had to take chang’aa. Since then I have been taking alcohol.
He however claims to have quit alcohol for a few months now; but we also can’t help but think this might just be another stunt especially now that many have been demanding for DJ Evolve to get justice!
Lady identified as Muthoni Mahiaini has exposed Babu Owino for sliding into her DM!
As seen on the screenshots shared on Onare’s page, it appears that Babu Owino took his shot with the gorgeous chocolate skinned girl – only for him to realize that all Nairobi girls are not the same.
According to Babu, he found this particular young lady to be quite beautiful as he sent a Direct Message saying;
Babu Owino exposed
You are so beautiful
Turned down
However unfortunately for Babu Owino the girl he had been eyeing did not seem impressed by his move; and the reaction did not make it any better!
On the screenshot, the lady went on to call out Babu for shooting Evolve as she wrote;
you have destroyed someone’s life forever!!! Shame on you
Owino
Well, having shot DJ Evolve and is allegedly said to be buying his freedom; Ms Muthoni did not want to be involved with a man like Babu Owino – but problem is, the politician did not take it so lightly!
Responding to the lady….as usual Babu Owino decided to throw shade at the lady and judging from what he wrote; clearly this fella does not take rejection lightly and seeing what his anger did to Evolve – Muthoni should count herself lucky this conversation went down in her DM.
Justice for Evolve
For weeks now, many have been asking Evolve to be given some justice by putting Babu Owino behind bars; but oh well, money talks louder and having justice on sale confirms that we might have to wait longer.
Muthoni on the other hand served Babu Owino on her page; as a reminder that money cannot buy you everything!
Barely days after DJ Evolve’s interview on NTV went viral and touched the hearts of many, his dad, John Orinda has come out in defense of Embakasi East MP, Babu Owino.
The expectation is that a parent would at the very least, defend and stand up for their child especially if they were a victim of injustice, instead of siding with the opposite party.
However, that was not going to be the case for DJ Evolve, popularly known as Felix Orinda.
Speaking to the media yesterday, Mr John Orinda expressed delight in the major improvements his son was reflecting so far.
He was however quick to note that all this was courtesy of Babu Owino born Paul Ongili. Right from the issuing of medication to the medical staff that had camped at their home to keep watch of DJ Evolve’s health.
Since my son arrived home, I have seen improvement and there is medication he is being given and the person bringing those drugs is Babu Owino. He also provided the nurses that attend to DJ Evolve, day and night.
To this regard, Evolve’s dad showered Babu with unending praise, attesting that were it not for the financial and physical support the legislator has been providing, then the situation would have been worse.
All I can say is Babu Owino is not such a bad guy even though I am yet to meet him and have a talk. He has however not disappeared and I don´t think he will. I am also praying that Babu Owino helps us because we are not able to take care of Felix on our own.
Evolve recuperating from home
Before taking a swipe at Nation media for their exclusive coverage on DJ Evolve’s well-being that didn’t paint such a good picture of Babu.
I would like to ask the Nation media & the media to stop haunting him because when DJ Evolve keeps seeing his stories on TV it brings back memories of the fateful day.
A few days after NTV aired an exclusive interview with recovering DJ Evolve, the entertainer's father, John Orinda, has spoken. Mzee Orinda says: 'Babu Owino si mtu mbaya'. pic.twitter.com/SETPbR0yck
Well, Kenyans felt utterly disappointed by the DJ’s dad who had the audacity to pick sides and not of his son.
However, a section explained that Mr John Orinda had no choice but to praise Babu Owino, lest they foot the financial burden their son’s condition has caused.
DJ Evolve was recently discharged from the Nairobi Hospital after 5 months of being in the intensive care unit. Back in January 2020, Evolve was allegedly involved in an argument with Embakasi East that led to him getting a gun shot on his neck.
From the footage shared widely on social media; Babu Owino was seen pulling out his gun and firing at Evolve without a care in the world. Moments after this, the same Babu and his bodyguard were seen carrying a lifeless body in the corridor; and later on it was reported that he was rushed to the Nairobi Hospital.
Unfortunately, Evolve’s injury forced him to undergo several surgeries; as doctor’s hoped this would speed up his recovery process. Being alive is however something his family remains grateful for and now that he is finally home, their hope continues to grow each day.
New photos of DJ Evolve
Evolve speaks
After being discharged from the hospital, his mum went on to thank fans, family and friends for standing with them throughout. Although Evolve is yet to get better, his mum made it known that her son will not be having visitors. This is because of the orders given to them by Evolves doctors.
I know very many well-wishers and friends would love to come to visit him at home, but the medics have put stringent measures to regulate the people who can see him at a particular time. Home-based care has strict guidelines on maintaining hygiene
Surprisingly Evolve also had a few words to say; and this time around, he promised fans a good time in future as he plans to get back in his feet as soon as possible.
Evolve recuperating from home
“Sometimes I can feel my toes. That reassures me that God is still working on me. I cannot wait to get back on my feet, meet and entertain my fans,”
Renowned disc jockey Felix Orinda, popularly known as DJ Evolve, has finally been discharged from Nairobi Hospital where he had been admitted for the last 5 months.
According to Mpasho, the mix master who plied his trade a B-Club, was released from the facility on Thursday, June 18.
DJ Evolve
The online publication reports that he was provided with an adjustable bed because he can’t walk. However, he can communicate albeit in a low tone.
DJ Evolve was shot twice in the neck by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino on January 17, 2020. According to reports, the two were close friends and the shooting might have been the result of a joke gone bad.
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino knows how to annoy Kenyans on Twitter; and if you doubt this, then his latest tweet will leave you convinced otherwise.
A few days ago KoT decided to join in hands as they demanded justice for DJ Evolve who was shot a few months ago by MP Babu Owino. Twitter users went on to push the hashtag #JusticeForDjEvolve which left Babu Owino trending.
But thanks to his ignorance and arrogant behavior, Babu did not seem bothered or moved by this. To prove how much of a don’t care he is, the MP recently went on to share a tweet begging Kenyans to make him trend since he misses being discussed. He went on to tweet;
Babu Owino caught on red handed on Camera
“I really miss trending, can someone make me trend even if it’s negative please”
KoT offers suggestions
Seeing what boredom was doing to Babu Owino; KoT on the other hand decided to join in his game as they responded to his tweet.
Babu Owino’s tweet
Clearly Babu had nothing else better to do than pick a fight with the same Kenyans who hate his guts. As seen on the screenshots shared below, some fans went on to suggest he shoots the likes of Raila or others; that is if he was so desperate to trend.
Others chose to drag his wife into the messy exchange as they advised Babu to take her down; promising to make him trend for weeks!
DJ Evolve
In January 2020, Babu Owino was caught on camera shooting DJ Evolve over an unknown disagreement that almost cost the young man his life.
He has since been in hospital and according to his dad; Babu Owino seems to have abandoned their son in hospital! The bill continues to pile up but Babu claims he already has it sorted out!
Babu Owino might have just landed himself in trouble! We have confirmed that his official statement released on Instagram might have lacked some truth.
Babu Owino shoots DJ Evolve
STATEMENT BY HON. BABU OWINO ON INCIDENT
A few weeks ago, I made a public statement regarding threats that I had been receiving against my life. At the turn of the year, I reported an attempted assassination at the Parliament Police Station under OB number OB21/17/11/2019 at 17:28hrs. I have been living under the weight of intimidation and threats by my political opponents.
Yesterday was the culmination of these efforts by my enemies. While enjoying the company of my friends at a popular Nairobi restuarant, I was surrounded by a large group of aggressive individuals. In the melee, there was an exchange of gunfire.
I invite the relevant authorities to conduct their investigations without fear or favor and I remain confident that the truth will come out.
I urge my supporters to remain calm. I will continue to serve wananchi fearlessly. This will not deter me from supporting H. E Uhuru Kenyatta and H. E Raila Odinga in the journey to transform our country.
Comrade Babu Owino,
MP, Embakasi East and Leader, Youth For Africa Movement.
This is after the CCTV footage from B Club surfaced online showing what went down. From the video, it appears that DJ Evolve was talking the politician about an unknown issue before Babu Owino pulled out his gun shooting him without a second thought.
It is still unclear as what would have triggered the Embakasi MP to shoot the DJ in front of his body guard and the unknown lady standing beside him.
Video Emerges
After the shooting Babu and the same body guard as seen dragging DJ Evolve out of the club; probably to get him some medical care.
While Lilian Muli is out here sending strong signal she’s single again but not ready to be a side chick, some are busy denying they were involved in bringing her baby Liam to this world.
Politician Babu Owino had a very cheeky response after a fan asked him whether he has seen Lilian Muli’s baby because he resembles him.
“Alafu umemwona yule mtoi wa Lillian Muli .mazee anakufanana vibaya sana ama kuna vile,” mose_ooro commented and Babu answered, “Maybe the mum was calling my name during sex.”
Not hers
The photo has been doing rounds on social media after Muli posted it. However, the baby’s isn’t Muli but belongs to Lillian’s close friend Cess P.
Interestingly, Muli posted the baby online while has been clearly avoiding to post her own who is barely eight months old.
Sometimes in September, Kibra member of parliament Kenneth Okoth wrote to National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi giving notice of introduction of a Bill that seeks to legalize the growth and use of marijuana in Kenya.
The proposed Marijuana Control Bill 2018 is yet to be tabled in parliament. For the Bill to be implemented to law, it first needs the backing of majority house members to pass through the various stages in parliament before the president could assent to it.
Babu Owino
Babu’s support
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has indicated that he will fully back the proposed Marijuana Control Bill 2018 when tabled in parliament.
Babu revealed he would support the Bill after having a ‘Rastafarian experience’, he took to social media and shared a photo of him wearing a Rasta hat with dreadlocks and captioned it;
“Hii mboga ni ile mbichi au dry?Niko ready kupitisha ile bill.”
Babu Owino is surely a jack of all trades. The controversial Embakasi East MP is a firebrand politician, a lawyer and now also a musician.
For starters, Babu graduated from University of Nairobi with a degree in Actuarial Science. He pursued a second degree in law before vying for a political seat.
The MP is now exploring his music talent, Babu has worked fast rising rapper Nebulazz to drop a new jam dubbed Dis Gal (Kanini Kega).
Promote upcoming artistes
Actually the sole purpose of Babu collaborating with Nebulazz is to promote upcoming musicians. The song only features a few sound bites by the Embakasi East MP.
Babu also clarifies that Dis Gal (Kanini Kega) does not refer to Kieni Member of Parliament Kanini Kega. ‘Kanini Kega’ is also a Kikuyu word meaning small and nice.
Babu was supposed to attend Bobi Wine’s Kyalenga Festival on Saturday but the Ugandan government through the ministry of Internal Affairs quickly barred him from traveling to Kampala.
The Embakasi East MP issued a statement after Internal Affairs minister General Haji Abubakar blocked his entry into Uganda;
STATEMENT BY COMRADE BABU OWINO ON UGANDA TRAVEL BAN; I WILL NOT BE SILENCED!
I am in receipt of official communication from the Minister for Internal Affairs for Uganda General Haji Abubakar seeking to ban my travel to Uganda without special clearance from his office.
This draconian veto came just ahead of my trip to Kampala to attend the Kyalenga Festival yesterday. It is a backward and authoritarian response to my unequivocal support for Honorable Robert Kyagulanyi and the young people of Uganda against the tyranny of President Yoweri Museveni.
Honorable Bobi Wine and I remain brothers in ideology and no amount of intimidation will stop us from working together to liberate the people of Africa!
I wish to categorically state that General Haji’s ban will not deter me from agitating for greater democratic space in Uganda, Kenya and indeed, the entire continent. I will not falter in my pursuit for respect for human rights and the meaningful involvement of the youth in our nations’ affairs.
The arc of the moral universe may be long but it always bends towards justice.President Museveni must know that nothing lasts forever. He has overstayed his welcome and soon, the popular wishes of the Ugandan people will outweigh his use of force and violence.
I urge the youth in Uganda not to be discouraged from this minor set back,I will come to Uganda whether the guy is alive or dead.We will overcome!
Signed and dated,
Comrade Babu Owino,
MP, Embakasi East and Leader, Youth For Africa Movement.

Kenyans On Twitter are calling for the immediate arrest and deportation of a Chinese businessman caught on camera calling Kenyans monkeys including president Uhuru Kenyatta.
The Chinese man arrogantly stated that he doesn’t like Kenya because the people are black, poor and they smell. He however said that he still have to do business with Kenyans because he only wants the money.
Blogger Robert Alai who shared the video online has since managed to trace the racist Chinese businessman. Alai says the Chinese national works at Sonlink Limited which sells bikes in Ruiru.

In September 2017 Babu Owino insulted president Uhuru and he was arrested and charged with subversion and insulting the presidency.
Interestingly Babu Owino has responded to the video of the Chinese man insulting president Kenyatta. The Embakasi East MP says the racist Chinese should be deported back to China ASAP.
The new fuel prices has increased the cost of living condemning more Kenyans to poverty. The cost of transport has increased and it’s also expected the prices of basic commodities will go up.
National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich implemented 16 per cent tax on fuel even after parliament voted to delay the implementation.
Babu Owino has since written an open letter to president Uhuru Kenyatta after CS Rotich went on with the illegal implementation.

OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT UHURU KENYATTA ON SOARING PUBLIC DEBT & ITS EFFECT ON ORDINARY WANANCHI
Your Excellency,
I recall vividly that just over a month ago you made the prudent decision to suspend new projects until old projects are completed. While some circles were critical of this decision, as a young Parliamentarian, I welcomed it as a move that would instill discipline in the Executive arm of Government while ensuring tax payers’ money is well spent and accounted for. I also felt that the country had already over extended itself in terms of large capital intensive projects and needed some time to offset existing debt before moving on to new initiatives.
I have since then followed the trajectory of the nation’s financial management over the past few weeks with consternation. I note that during your visit to the US, it was made public that your government is borrowing the sum equivalent of 450 billion shillings for the construction of a six lane highway from Mombasa to Nairobi. I further note that in your visit to China, your government has taken on a further 380 billion shillings in debt for the construction of Phase 2A of the Standard Gauge Railway from Naivasha to Kisumu. This totals close to a TRILLION shillings in new debt in the span of ten days.
During this period, we have seen the Treasury Secretary, Henry Rotich, purport to implement an illegal tax on the people of Kenya no doubt to finance our growing debt obligations. I do not hesitate to call the tax illegal because Parliament voted to amend the Finance Bill and suspend the implementation of the proposed sixteen percent value added tax on fuel. Parliament is the supreme law making organ of the land as per the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and as such any attempt by the Executive to levy a tax not approved by the August House is both illegal and unconstitutional.
I therefore write to you on behalf of the young people of our society struggling on a daily basis to make ends meet. I write to you on behalf of our mothers, stretching themselves to the limit, to ensure their families do not sleep hungry. I write to you on behalf of future generations, to whom we have a deep and solemn responsibility not to burden with a hopeless future. I write to you in regard of the untimely sixteen percent value added tax on fuel proposed by your Treasury Secretary.
Your Excellency, as a young person and as a leader, I pledged to support you in your efforts to unite the nation and build bridges. I further pledged to help you secure your legacy in your final term as President in the spirit of your Handshake with my Party Leader, H. E Raila Odinga and indeed, in the spirit of our own personal handshake within the precincts of Parliament during your state of the nation address. I therefore take this opportunity to request you to assent to the Finance (Amendment) Bill 2018 and save our people from the difficult times such a tax promises.
We as Parliament have read the mood of the people and realized that the Bill as initially proposed would portend untold suffering amongst the most vulnerable in our society. Our people are already overburdened with the high cost of living. The introduction of such a tax at this time would only serve to make their lives more unbearable.
I make this request as a father to a fellow father, for the sake of our children and our children’s children, let us seek to find innovative ways to reduce public expenditure and wastage instead of raiding the pockets of ordinary wananchi.
I and the youth of this nation look forward to your positive response on this matter.
Yours faithfully,
Hon. Babu Owino,
MP, Embakasi East Constituency,Secretary General Kenya Young Parliamentarians Association &The People’s Watchman.
